It seems that way. Part of the reason is they don't fit his style well and they try to force things to get him in space. Part of the reason is that people are a lot faster in the NFL than they were in the PAC 10, and I think Reggie just doesn't seem to have good presence in the backfield. He will dance around when he needs to hit the hole and sometimes vice versa, and I think he tries to make too much happen instead of taking what the defense is willing to give you on a lot of plays. Good backs know when to take that four yard run instead of trying to make something happen when you shouldn't and getting negative yards. Maybe they should just make him a receiver. The other two back they have make an ok combination when healthy. I would have though he could at least be cast in a Brian Westbrook mold and do well but they can't even seem to have that. The way they were talking about him you would have thought he would at least been like Marshal Faulk.
It's a good thing to remember this whenever somebody is cast as a "can't miss prospect", or even "a once in a generation type of talent" before the draft. Houston taking Mario Williams doesn't seem such a bad idea anymore.
I thought he would clown the NFL because I thought that an NFL OLine and NFL WRs would provide him with the blocking that he needs to go beyond what he did at USC.
I think he is in fine physical shape...maybe he's too muscular and heavy:dunno:
He shouldn't really be as ineffective at running the ball as he is. I'm worried that he will lose a step now that he's torn a knee ligament. I used to think that opponent defenses were simply ZEROED in on shutting down Reggie at the expense of the Saint WRs and Reggie's problem was that he was trying to do too much and win the game on every play. If the Saints go on a run and make the playoffs...hmmm...I wonder what that will do to Reggie's confidence?

I think Reggie Bush has been over-rated since day one. In college, he was faster and bigger than most of the other players, so he seemed to be a pretty dominating running back. But, the reality is that these other players he was doing so well against were mediocre college athletes, most of which were no where near NFL calibur.
Fast forward to the NFL...he sucks. Yeah, he's still fast, but so are most of the defensive players trying to tackle him. And, if you notice, Reggie Bush is TINY when he's on the field with NFL players. I think the Texans made a brilliant choice by not drafting him at #1.
Reggie Bush at his finest. If a CORNERBACK can do this to you, you have no business being a running back in the NFL.
Oh c'mon. That's bullshit. How about if I cue up Reggie Bush clowning the shit out of your Chicago Bears in the playoffs last season! Does he have business making Urlacher look like a sock puppet!! Drew Brees threw a fucking lollypop to Bush on that play, btw. If he bothered to put a little pace on it, things might have been different.
I will say that I wouldn't put Reggie back returning punts anymore. He doesn't seem to have the right anticipation to return them..
On a separate note...I find it hilarious that all the ESPN HoNks seem to be crucifying Bobby Petrino for bailling the Falcons for Arkansas. ESPN seems to be playing the part of annoying, whiney brat and getting moronic dipshits like Sean Salisbury to savage Petrino. Is it a crime to leave the NFL because you're not happy and you think your job sucks!

First of all, he was wide open on that play and didn't have to do anything but waltz into the endzone...running as fast as you can takes a lot of talent, or so I've heard.
Second of all, if you take away his ONE good play of 88 yards, he did absolutely nothing for the rest of the game. Thirdly, I believe the Bears went to the Super Bowl for beating the Saints 39-14, so...how were they the ones who were clowned in that game?PS - Go ahead and mention that the Bears lost the Super Bowl. You're the one highlighting a single play from last season and making idiotic proclamations!!!! Yeah big fucking deal that Reggie got hammered on that play. The Saints beat the Eagles in THAT game and later on in the season too. Bad things happen to great players too you know. Bush did his job that day. There's nothing wrong with his performance that day or that season. This season has been a different matter. He has been ordinary.

Considering that both teams blow this year...what's the point in this? I posed the question that maybe Bush is not "all that he's cracked up to be" but that doesn't mean he needs to be sent off to play in the CFL. He might be decent, not spectacular.
Chicago's in a world more of mess TODAY then the Saints are..and I'll say that Chicago has another miserable season in 2008...where the Saints might rebound.

A) I blame the Bears poor execution of defense on that play.
B) Urlacher was on the complete opposite side of the field on that play. The only reason he was even close to catching Bush is because he can run pretty fast for a linebacker. Reggie Bush thought he was soooo sweet for "beating" Urlacher (which he didn't even do) that he decided to TAUNT him? HA!!! All he did was make himself look like a complete child.
If I were some person that was getting recruit attempts by multiple universities why would I want to go to Arkansas now? Basically I would be going to a coach that stepped out after the 13th week in his first NFL season. That doesn't give me a lot of confidence in the future of the program he is at now.
As far as Reggie Bush I think his biggest problem above all others is that he still tries to do too much. He needs to realize he isn't Barry Sanders and probably doesn't have the ability to do the things he could. I think if he would step back a little and revaluate the way he plays he could come out a lot better, because the physical stuff is there. Also at USC not only was he playing against people that he was always better than but most of his teammates where better than the competition also. When they were playing on a team that is almost a low quality pro caliber one rather than a real college team it will make almost everybody else's play look better. Matt Lienart's play isn't exactly setting the world on fire right away either.
