they need to play better than this if they see the jaguars

ever since the cold weather has started they've looked more like a good team.
they were much more than a "good" team earlier in the season.

their biggest problem is rundefense and jacksonville is the one of the best rushing teams i've seen all year but their offense has come down to earth a little especially compared to earlier in the season.

dont think for 2 minutes that Belichick doesnt turn this team "on and off" when he sees fit-they are the best team ever-methodical monsters!

he isn't turning nothing on or off. they're adjusting to the weather and they don't look as impressive as before.

jacksonville has one of the best defenses and one of the best run offenses. if they can hold the patriots to 20-24 pts and wear them out with the running game. that's how they are going to knock off new england

The Giants don't have too much to play for themselves. I wonder how much they will rest people.

I'm sure that they want to be the team to knock the Pats off of their thrown.
I predict that if the Pats win and are 16-0,they will get upset in the playoffs and I will laugh my ass off like you wouldn't believe.

Pats will be perfect but they won't win the superbowl..based on the fact that its often where some teams storm the playoff picture with their macho records and fail, two teams last year like Baltimore/Chicago. But you never know, unbeaten means noone has had what it takes to knock you down and normally the performances shown in the regular season don't translate into similar performances in the playoffs.

I got to tell you,for a chick(and if that's you in your avatar,a hot chick;)) you really seem to know your shit about football.

If you look back at the last champions for say the last 20 years, very few had the best record in the league. That being said, mathematically the Pats would be destined to get knocked off before they even reach the Superbowl. They have spent so much energy just trying to stay perfect and now the pressure is really building up.I just think with their cocky attitude and the fact that every team is really gunning for them now, they will surely lose.

I wouldn't say they're tired, they've been playing with minimal effort in the past few weeks to be honest such as the game on sunday. The first half was all there was to be watched..lol
To win the superbowl, it isn't about skill, it's about hunger. Last year Manning and Harrison had mad hunger to win the bowl because they had never won it in all the years they've dominated the league for, that bugged them. The Pats are winning these games purely out of skill and I don't think they're that hungry to win it, so I think whereever they go in the play offs, they will lose to either Green Bay because Favre is dying for the ring and he's due one, or Chargers, san diego is finally getting this right after the poor starts, or the Cowboys, TO is hungry for the ring and finally Jacksonville, they are hungry for that ring and they way they play, they will hurt you and eat you up on the way, they are a ruthless team.

^ i'm not buying that, i say they're adjusting to the weather so they can't bitchslap teams around the football field like they were doing earlier. and if they run into jacksonville in bad weather, they might get knocked off

Correction,Brett already has a Superbowl ring and he lost in 99 to the Broncos in Elway's swan song. He's just a greedy ass that doesn't want to hand over the reigns to the Packers QB of the future. And I do think that if their are any players on the Patriots that are "hungry" for a Superbowl ring,it would have to be Junior Seau and Randy Moss.

And another thing, teams that suck don't win Superbowls just because they are hungry to win one.Dammit just when I give you some props you go and disappoint me.;)

I will have to agree with you slik. The reason why they say that defense wins championships probably has to do with the weather more than anything else.I'm not 100% sure, but I bet that if you looked it up you would find that scoring drops later in the year, and that's because offenses(especially those with a predominately passing attack)can't execute their plays in the cold like they can when it's warm and maybe that's why there have only been two dome teams to win a Superbowl since 98.Just look at what happened the the Packers this past Sunday.Their offense couldn't do shit, and it was all because of the weather.

Defensively, teams aren't worried about their timing, they are more reactive to what the offense is doing and all they really have to do is make the right adjustments in their defensive play calling and coverage scemes.

I sure hope you're right.
I made future book bets on Jacksonville and [coughmistakecough] San Fran. If J'ville wins the super bowl that'd make for a very profitable day :D

I still just don't see any other AFC team in the Superbowl this year but the Patriots. What if they've just been holding back the last six weeks or so, then the playoffs start and they really start to pour it on?

I've been watching football all my life, never a fan of one particular team but a fan of the game itself (except for John Elway- I hated John Elway). And with all the inferred knowledge I've accumulated from watching hundreds and hundreds of games, I can say without question that the 07 New England Patriots are, pound for pound, the best team team to ever step out onto the field.

That being said, it's true that the best team of the season doesn't always make the Superbowl. Look at Indianapolis for the last, what, five years before they finally won it last year. And what about those four NFC Championship games that the Eagles dropped before they finally had the opportunity to get whupped on by- yes- New England in the SB (or was it five?). But the Patriots this year... jeez, they're the team that legends are made of. 15 years from now, kids coming to the NFL from college are going to be citing the 2007 New England Patriots as the reason they started playing football.

So, I've said it before and I'll say it again. Superbowl final score:

New England 26, Green Bay 21.

Alright its over but I stand by my statement in saying that New England is definetly beatable.I saw Sam Madison pull up lame on that first pass, but I'll give New England credit they capitalized on it the next play when Madison shouldn't of been in the game.

Oh well...........On to the Playoffs, where a perfect season doesn't matter cause everybody has the same record, 0-0.

ohhh, look who's all mad

i don't like the tension i felt in that post

I have something to say...

...The NFL Network's broadcast are terrible. :1orglaugh

It should not be allowed to have a pay station like the NFL channel that has commercials too.Pick one or the other should be the law.
On the game all I will say is hopefully the Giants get to see them again in the superbowl.
