So your saying that the emotional attachment some people have for a rivalry, whom like somebody else said most people that root for the school never even went there, makes the play better than the players actually being bigger, stronger, faster, and more skilled? I would even go so far as to state that a good number of the players on each side don’t really care as much about it as the fans even if they don’t admit it when giving sound bites to the media.

In a rivalry game...who the hell knows what will happen. The games are likely to be close contests even if one team has a great record and the other has a crappy record, going into the game becayse a LOSS can really give the down team a lift going into next season and a loss really sticks with the better team for an entire year....

Do you really think pro players care about the team they're playing for? Most college football players DO CARE about the team they're playing for because most college players aren't going to play in the NFL. The 5star College recruit probably doesn't care about teams and traditions..

If Pro Team Fans have only geography as the connection to the pro team..why should we make a difference for college teams? Who cares. There are Alumni Clubs that exclude "fans" whereas any fan can buy his way into the Owner's Box of a Pro Team.

The College Bowl System is a bloated mess. I agree that it rewards mediocrity at the expense of competition. There should be a Bowl Selection Committee to ensure attractive Non-BCS matchups and there should ONLY BE 15 BOWL GAMES PERIOD!!

those goddamn patriots :nanner::nanner::nanner:

Considering all the injuries the Colts had I am impressed.Only 2 active WRs and they kept up with the Patriots.Plus they're defense seems like it gets better every week.If theese two meet again and both teams are healthy,I am taking the Colts.

^that doesn't change how the Patriots overcame a 20-10 score in the 4th quarter ;)

I almost would take the Colts next time, but chances are they will be playing in Foxboro in the cold. Not sure if the Colts could pull off a playoff win in those conditions.Hey but at least you could figure if that does happen then Randy Moss probably won't be a factor. He sucks in cold weather playoff games, but who the hell knows what's gonna happen?Maybe the Pats get beat in their first playoff game like the Chargers did last season. It seems like every year the team with the best record doesn't win the Super Bowl.

I only saw the entire second half of the game. It was pretty exciting (nothing like Notre Dame/Navy 3OT:1orglaugh)...I thought New England would "look" better then they did. Indy is not that far behind at all and when they meet in the AFC Championship (cough THE REAL SUPER BOWL 42 cough) I think they stand a great chance of taking out the Patriots. Marvin Harrison is a difference-maker type player. This just in...Wes Walker is good.

I bet this game pulls a 25.3 rating...that's damn impressive.

the Patriots are not the fucking Chargers from last season. Who's going to knock off the Patriots or the Colts in the playoffs

Steelers - inconsistent offense
Broooowns <-- inconsistent offense + sorry defense
Ravens -
Chargers - Phillip Rivers still isn't ready + downgraded defense

the only way the Patriots get knocked off is if they beat themselves. same for the colts, and i don't imagine that happening.

I just don't see that happening if Peyton had all his weapons as Brady did

I didn't get to see but the last few minutes of the game, however, that didn't seem to stop them from building their lead until they lost it in the 4th quarter. The Colts couldn't handle the comeback from the Patriots.

And who saw the Steelers creepin' up on everyone 2 years ago?The season is just now half over and if you know anything about football then you know that it's not how you start but how you finish. That being said,it does appear that the Pats should roll over everyone but in the words of Denny Green,"You wanna crown their asses, then crown em!"Me? I think I'll wait a little bit longer to see how the season shapes up,even though NE is my pick for the Superbowl.

What do you need to see shape up. The only team that poses a challenge to the Patriots or Colts is the Steelers. And I shouldn't need to display why they wouldn't be favorites in either matchup

Not that this is the NBA or anything but just keep in mind what happened to the Mavericks last year,it only takes one game in the playoffs

I understand that. But as far as the regular season, the teams that truly matter in the AFC is clear barring injuries..

Patriots last game will be tough - @Giants. Not because the Giants are any good, but because the Giants will probably be fighting for a playoff spot/division title/bye week.

I missed the entire second half of that game because I had to workout.:1orglaugh

This might sound strange, but now that the Bears season is close to being done, I'm sort of rooting for the Patriots to go all the way undefeated just so all those old Dolphins players can shut the hell up. This is the best chance for it to happen since 1985.
