They just showed the accident on TSN in slow motion. That was a terrible crash. Hopefully it was a freak accident and not a problem with the track; it would be terrible for this to happen again, or for that matter another accident.
Is this the first death at a Winter Games? man that crash was just horrible. Condolences.

That's the reasonable thing to do. The boy from Georgia may have been inexperienced and a not-so-good luger. But there were several accidents during the practice sessions, one involviong gold medal candidate Zoeggeler from Italy, another with a girl from Romania.
The track seems to be extremely tricky. They cannot implement an apartheid system with only the top athletes allowed to compete while the others are being barred because it's too risky to let them start. Where would you set the cut-off?

That was the fourth death in Winter Olympic history. I believe the last one was in 1994, and the other two were decades ago.

No, I saw him I just forgot. I was actually surprised to see Ziggy because I haven't heard his name for a while. And the fact that Sweden picked Forsberg was cool because they have such a big representation. Forsberg is one of my all time favorite players. He was soooo damn tallented when he broke out in the NHL. I watched his 4 goal 2 assist (6 point) game on ESPN back in like '99. That was cool.
okay, frankly, as a Canadian, I'm fairly embarrassed by the opening ceremonies. A very bad showing. weak.

That song was originally made by a homosexual (Rufus Wainwright) and just performed by a homosexual (KD Lang). Not that it really means anything to me because homosexuals deserve just about every right that I have, but I just thought it was kind of a 'statement" they tried to make.
