NFL '21 Season Thread

Does this mean the usual antipathy over the 4th preseason game now reverts to the 3rd preseason game?

In a more serious thought, how will teams approach the season and resting players? We hear about the teams playing for the first-round bye in order to rest players. Now, at 17 games, the wear-and-tear of the season will take an additional toll.

Panthers acquired QB Sam Darnold from the Panthers in exchange for three draft picks.

The Panthers are sending a 2021 sixth-rounder New York's way before getting more serious in 2022, where they will be shipping off their second- and fourth-rounders. It's not much of a haul..

I hope this works out. If not, they will probably be picking at the top of the Draft next year and can get a QB then.

It now looks like Aaron Donald was actually being restrained by some of his posse, while others of his posse are the ones that roughed the guy up:

Not really a football fan, but I do love Cleveland, and I'm hoping the Browns can do a little better this year, maybe take it all....it's been hard on the true Cleveland fans, they deserve a win.

Better Cleveland than the Bungles or Ravens.

Carolina has traded Teddy Bridgewater to the Broncos for a sixth round pick. At least they got something for him.

Plus they had to donate $7 million toward his $10 million guarantee. With Lock's inconsistency last year, Teddy has a chance to start a few games.

... and the Broncos thought they could add another QB: Premium Link Upgrade

***** league baseball carnival attraction Tim Tebow worked out for the Jags:

Ugh.. My NYG traded down with CHI.. The NYG got CHI's 1st rounder in 2022, and took a well regarded, inexperienced WR from Florida with CHI's pick. BUT - I'd have rather the NYG taken UCLA OG Vera-Tucker at #11. (NYG lost OG K. Zeitler.)

The New York Jets make Zach Wilson the # 2 pick - the latest franchise quarterback ...

Let's see, we've had this many QBs since Joe Namath went to the Los Angeles Rams : Richard Todd, Kenny O'Brien, Browning Nagle, Boomer Esiason, Neil O'Donnell, Glenn Foley, Ray Lucas, Chad Pennington, Vinny Testaverde (a trade), Brett Favre (a free agent), Mark Sanchez, Kellen Clemens, Geno Smith, Michael Vick, Ryan Fitzpatrick, Joe Flacco and Sam Darnold.

... All this is doomed to fail. :evillaugh: History has been very painful for the New York Jets. Joe shouldn't have sold his soul for the Super Bowl III MVP Award.

Getting Brees and Julio out of the division in the same offseason would be magical.

99 days until the return of NFL Football so today we honor Warren Sapp, defensive tackle with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Oakland Raiders. Sapp anchored an all-time great Tampa Bay defense which powered their team to a win in Super Bowl XXXVII. He was a six-time All-Pro, was named NFL Defensive Player of the Year (1999) and is a member of both the 1990s and 2000s All-Decade Team. He was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2013.

It looks like the Falcons are trading Julio to the Titans. Not official yet but appears to be trending in that direction.
