I guess activate would not be the correct word there. Exercise seems correct. The Colts will not exercise their fifth year option in Anthony Richardson's contract. Carolina will exercise Brye Young's fifth year option and pay him around $26 million I think I recall reading. It will be interesting to confirm that in the coming days when I am no longer chemically altered.

Fowler, who has bounced around the league in recent years, had 10.5 sacks just two years ago with the Commanders and will now join a Seattle defense that last season pressured the passer at one of the league’s highest rates. Fowler, 31, will likely play on a prove-it deal with the Super Bowl champs in 2026. He could be used in a rotational role in the Seahawks’ loaded front seven. Fowler has 58.5 sacks over 159 NFL games.

Vikings signed WR Jauan Jennings, formerly of the 49ers, to a one-year, $13 million contract.
The deal includes an $8 million base salary. Jennings can make an extra $5 million via incentives. This will be Jennings’ first time playing for a team other than the 49ers, who drafted him in the 2020 NFL Draft’s seventh round. Jennings, 28, caught 55 passes for 643 yards and a career-high nine touchdowns last year. He should start in three-wide receiver sets alongside Justin Jefferson and Jordan Addison. Jefferson will rarely leave the field, but one wonders if Jennings (6'3/212) might be able to steal snaps from Addison (5'11/175) in two-wide receiver sets, in part due to Jennings’ run-blocking ability. Addison, 24, is the more talented receiver, so we expect him to remain the No. 2 target earner, but this dynamic is worth keeping an eye on in training camp. For now, Jennings can be viewed as a WR4/FLEX, while Jefferson sits in the WR1 tier and Addison in the WR2/3 range.

We are now in the dead zone between the Draft and training camp. It is a time boundless optimism. Everything is going to work out. The free agents to whom Carolina paid millions of dollars will be All-Pros, draft picks will exceed their rounds and Bryce Young has figured things out and looks like Mahomes out there. I meet a beautiful woman who falls madly in love with me. Since meeting her, I am not depressed so I get promoted at work to something which pays alot of money while I use THC and make love with the previously mentioned beautiful woman. That's what makes this time of year so magical for us fans.

Shortly after Browns HC Todd Monken declined to comment on whether or not he expects Garrett to report to mandatory minicamp, we now have our answer. The 2025 NFL Defensive Player of the Year and single-season sacks record holder is now taking his talents to Los Angeles to help Sean McVay and Matthew Stafford’s push for a second Lombardi Trophy. Speculation around a possible trade for Garrett began swirling earlier this offseason after the team re-worked the language in his contract to make him more feasible to trade, and now, after months of insisting Garrett would be a Brown for life, Cleveland has dealt him away. It goes without saying that Garrett will provide a major boost to a defense that finished 10th in points allowed last season and fell just short of a Super Bowl appearance, even if it does come at the cost of losing a young star in verse. Garrett signed a four-year, $130 million extension with the Browns last offseason and remains under contract through 2030, putting him under the Rams’ control for the next four seasons. In addition to verse and a 2027 first-round pick, the Rams also sent a 2028 second-rounder and a 2029 third-rounder to Cleveland. Browns GM Andrew Berry said shortly after the deal was announced that talks were ongoing and nothing was official yet, but this seems like a done deal despite Berry’s best poker face.

The Philadelphia Inquirer’s Jeff McLane reports the Eagles will get a 2028 first-round pick from the Patriots in exchange for A.J. Brown.
In a post on X, McLane says, “from what I understand,” the return for Brown is “straight up a 2028 first-round draft pick.” We’ll see if that’s the case if/when a deal between the Eagles and Patriots eventually gets done, but that would be a steep drop from the compensation the star receiver was expected to generate. It’s been reported that the Patriots are ********* to deal a first-round pick for Brown, so it’s possible this is how the two sides agreed to a deal for the Eagles to move on from the disgruntled receiver. If a deal does happen, we wouldn’t expect it to come before 4:01 PM EST, which is when it would officially become more financially feasible for the Eagles as a post-June 1 deal. Brown caught 78 passes for 1,008 yards and seven touchdowns last season in a down year, and would immediately slot in as the Patriots’ top receiving option if he’s dealt.
