NFL '09/'10 Season Thread

The New England defense looked bad. Tom Brady is in a funk, and doesn't look like he's a future hall of famer almost in his prime this year. One thing is for certain, the Denver offensive line is one of the best I have seen, and is probably the biggest reason they are doing so well. You would have to go back to the mid 90s Cowboys to find a line as good as they are playing. The improved defense also helps some, but Orton is mediocre. Ryan Leaf would almost look good with that much time almost every play.

If this keeps going instead of people arguing about whether Manning or Brady is better (Although it was always Manning who was the best.) people are going to start talking about whether it's Manning or Brees that's the best quarterback.

My Texans just keep on breaking my heart. Fuck!!!! Can someone out there gain a friggin' half a yard for Chrissakes????

Denver are looking amazing. Not sure if they will make the Superbowl tho cos it's a long season. Still think New Orleans, Pittsburgh, and New York are most likely to go the distance. :2 cents:

Its is a great sports day, when the Red Sox lose via sweep and the Pats blow a game.

All right, my Boilermakers got stomped this weekend. I hope the Colts can continue their winning ways. Go Horse!

Also, good to see Denver get the win in overtime. As I've said before, Kyle Orton is a very capable QB. He may not be flashy, but he keeps his team in the game. Also, for the record, teams that have former Purdue QBs (Colts, Saints, Denver) are still undefeated.

Okay, I'm a Colts fan, but these roughing the penalty calls are absolute horse shit. It's football for fuck's sake, they're meant to be hit. It's a contact sport. Peyton is a big boy, he can handle these shots. There isn't anything malicious or intentional in them at all. Let them play the game!

I agree! Vanden Bosch was just doing his job....Peyton wasn't injured....what's the point?

We're playing football for God's sake....let 'em play! No harm, no foul.

Thanks Tom "I wear a dress" Brady for these calls.

The real reason for these "protection" rules is because the game of Pro Football has become too micromanaged. The game is too specialized and the rules are too stupid and complicated as a result.

Besides, sorry, but people will not pay $100/ticket to watch some fucking tomato can play QB, if we stop protecting the "star" QBs. When lately has a backup QB really done anything in the NFL (other than, yes, Tom Brady)....

Are those same fouls called for the lesser QBs? Will Kyle Orton or Josh Johnson be treated the same as brady and Manning? I doubt it. Both of those fouls against Manning were very ticky-tacky. But after last year they are gonna start protecting QBs on hits below the knees. The second one the defender got pushed into Manning by the lineman and foul. But hey, it helped the Colts drive 90 yds in 48 seconds. Thats pretty awesome. Peyton is one of the few football players I would pay to watch, I love that guy. And Matt Ryan is really good.:weeping:

Yes I'm showing my age here, but I can remember when QB's called their own plays and actually had to take a hit or two. Why don't they just have a scale for penalties based on merchandising sales? A Manning or Tom Brady gets hit, 25 yards, a first down and your firstborn son. Someone on say the Lions or the Rams get hit, fuck you get off the field or back in the huddle.

Broncos 5-0!!!!!

....and Kyle Orton drives 98 yards. oooooh!

I think it was those shithole throwback uniforms that won the game. Tom "Pretty Boy" Brady was so distracted at having to look at something so ugly, that he got totally outclassed by slovenly-but-efficient Kyle Orton.

I didn't mind the uniforms all that much, but the fucking vertical stripes on the socks made me want to throw up.

I just can't wait until the Broncos' luck runs out and they show their true colors. Yes, they're 5-0, but 3 of their games weren't impressive at all...

Week 1 - It took a MIRACLE to beat the Bengals
Week 2 - Cleveland Browns...enough said
Week 3 - Oakland Raiders...enough said

2 of those games were "gimme" wins and the win against the Bengals wasn't deserved at all; it was a good stroke of luck. 5-0 is a nice record, but...come on.

Hey, you Clevelander! Kyle Orton is NOT John Elway, so put in yer claws!! I'm no Bronco fan, but I LUV seeing Tom Baby Brady get snookered. Oh...and go, Detroit Lions! With any luck, you'll beat out Buffalo for the Draft Bowl.

the Rams will win the Draft bowl with the raiders next. i mean come on the raiders have mustered less than 200 yards offense in 3 straight games

How about those "Good Humor Man" outfits the refs were in yesterday? "You want sprinkles and hot fudge on that, sonny?". :1orglaugh

Fuck....some of this "throwback" stuff makes me want to "throw up". I definitely DO like the Rams in their bright old unis much better than the steely ones they usually wear....even if they do suck as a team no matter what they wear.
