Great, gutty win by the Sooners but I really wish they would have buried the Huskers in the 2nd half instead of just scraping by. I'd like to feel like we're kicking them out the door rather than having them leave. Anyway, good to know their last Big 12 memories will be losses to Texas, Texas A & M and Oklahoma!

I hope you assholes play Minnesota in your first conference game and get your clock cleaned by a team named after a fucking pestilent rodent.

Here's wishing you the worst of luck in the Big 10, Nebraska! We'll be just fine without you. :thefinger:booty::thefinger

Just be thankful Neb blew the game by dropping the ball all over the turf last night and didn't take the Big XII championship and most wins since the formation of the conference with them to the Big Ten. Talk about an insult.:o

Oh Jagger there is no reason to be bitter towards my Huskers. Hell they are the ones that get/got jobbed by the refs anytime they play a team from the bluebonnet state!

LOL....they haven't even really joined your conference yet and you're already making excuses for them?? That's rich.... :1orglaugh:1orglaugh:1orglaugh

Even richer...the excuses Big XII shills would have been making had they won.:1orglaugh

Pure speculation, 'Mega. I'm not sure who you're calling a "shill" here but if you haven't noticed, I'm not usually one prone to making excuses or blaming the refs when my team gets beat. Nebraska had plenty of chances to win that game last night and couldn't get it done....plain and simple.

Since Will is the only other blatantly Big 12 guy here that I am aware of, I guess he's your shill? :dunno: LOL....:1orglaugh

We'll see what you and BI have to say next year if (or when perhaps?) the Huskers beat Michigan or Ohio St. :D

I'm betting the BCS has Auburn #1. Either way, they're going to be 1-2 so what difference does it really make? :dunno:

"Shill" background...When it was announced Neb would join the Big Ten...there was the suggestion that Neb was essentially washed up and couldn't compete in the Big XII anymore and this was the primary and best reason for Neb to move to the Big Ten. Specifically Neb couldn't compete with high scoring, spread teams...(never mind there are probably as many teams in the B10 that run a version of the spread).

That obviously sounded like shilling and sour grapes to me...I laughed at the notion and told the someone ...that was not only absurd but Neb could very well win the Big XII on their way out.

As those things tend to do with me there was a back and forth that seemed to degrade eventually into what I thought amounted to Big XII shilling. I mean how does one reasonably claim that Neb, a team which came within a burnt orange cunt hair of winning the Big XII last season only did so because of a single defensive lineman??

End result: Neb could have won the Big XII on their way out last night.

That's a good question. Being a life-long Auburn fan, I'd like to know.

Home jerseys and option on the coin toss.

Auburn in the AP #1. I hafta give the program props. Chizik and Jacobs did whatever they did, to bring the program back from its doldrums several years ago. Hands up, and cheer.:hatsoff:

To be honest, I think OU's plan was to put massive points on the board. Stoops didn't want to settle for field goals, that's why he went for it on 4th down so many times. Unfortunately, we weren't able to convert, and the score was starting to get out of hand, so we had to take any scoring opportunity.

Oh, well... a win is a win. And I guess it's fitting that the final game between us was a classic.

Just be thankful Neb blew the game by dropping the ball all over the turf last night and didn't take the Big XII championship and most wins since the formation of the conference with them to the Big Ten. Talk about an insult.:o

Sure, Nebraska could have won... but they didn't.

You have to admit, OU was the more dominate team on offense and defense. OU: 454 yrds on offense, Nebraska: 293. Yeah, Nebraska turned it over 4 times, but OU turned it over on downs twice, and also had an INT returned to the 10 yard line. OU was just the better team.

It's pretty sad though. This is the best Nebraska team in quite some time, yet.... they still couldn't win the Big XII(or beat Texas:1orglaugh, "1 second":1orglaugh). On the bright side, things will probably get easier for them now that they're headed for the Big 10. :thefinger

The point is...according to you they were fleeing the Big XII :1orglaugh That point sure seems ridiculous right now RWill you should agree...I told you they'd compete for the Big XII champ and they did..

The 'bright side', Neb is most likely getting better, OU beat them and their crippled QB and you guys don't have to compete against them anymore.:1orglaugh

Nebraska is fleeing. Because they've been so mediocre for the past decade, they're not getting their fair share of revenue. If Nebraska had the success of a Texas or OU, maybe they would have stayed.

And OU isn't going to get better? 23 freshman and sophomores and their two deep roster. And the same applies for Texas, OK State, and A&M. The Big 12 south will be better next year.

By that standard, why isn't every other program in the Big XII fleeing instead of the one that's competed for the conf. champ the last 2 seasons???:1orglaugh

I guess I hit the right nerve regarding the shill comment then, huh? :1orglaugh

Nebraska is a first-class football program and has been for decades. The fact that they are leaving the Big 12 is sad in reality and that's a big part of my complaint....they were a Big 8 powerhouse for years before conference expansion and could have continued to be had they so chosen. I'm sure there are long-time Husker fans who feel a definite sadness about their decision to leave the conference. Although it is certainly true that their revenue share has declined since the inclusion of the schools from the old Southwest Conference, they nonetheless remained a rock-solid program within the conference despite some seriously down years that took their toll on the program. It's not their fault they were placed in the historically-weaker North Division and I think that was a major factor in their decision to defect to the Big 10. They'll undoubtedly continue to be a major recruiting force as time goes on.

That said and being a Big 12 loyalist as I am....I have to get my jabs in against them while I still can. I was delighted to see them lose last night and have a stinging defeat be their final memory of their many years in the conference. Fuck 'em as far as I am concerned....go on and go to the Big 10. We'll get along just fine without them, believe me.

Yes and I could have won the lottery last night. Salient point is I didn't....and Nebraska didn't win the Big 12 title game last night or last year for that matter either. End of story.

Good time for everyone to move on. You being a Michigan fan, I'm sure Nebraska will cause you more than your share of problems as time goes forward. Be careful what you wish for....I mean, after all, they are, after all, originally a Big 12 program. :D ;)

Actually, they were trying to flee. Remember, the Big 12 south was about to be apart of the Pac-10. But, the Big 12 restructured the their revenue sharing, and I guess Texas, OU, and Texas A&M are going to receive 20-30 million a year.

I don't really blame Nebraska for leaving. They're going to receive a shit load of money from the Big 10.
