It's a good thing for KFD that 70% of the USC roster can't read.

We were picked to win the conference, and we finished fourth in our division. Included in that are getting blown out by Boise State, losing to RICE! at home, getting pummeled by UCF at home, and a suprise come from ahead loss to Memphis at home. Sure we finished 7-5, but we have lost 5 games the past four years, and the losses kept getting worse. Suffice it to say that change was needed. The handling of the whole thing was pretty damned shitty though. A lot of people are pissed about it.Southern Miss is looking for a new head coach, and the Golden Eagles play Cincinnati in the Papajohns Bowl. Why did they fire a proven winner?

These 3 choices aren't very exciting.
Mike Leach (ucla alum?)--if not, then why?
UCLA's candidates for the head coaching position are not that shock-and-awe worthy...
Christmas....you've just embarrassed yourself...the Illini trample the Trojans???
HAHAHA! No way. The SC DLine is gonna squeeze the Juice til he bursts...I bet Juice tosses 3 INTs and gets boo'd by his own fans!!!
^
If it weren't for their long layoff I'd take Illinois and the points.
I still might
But in the post game interview Carroll went on to praise Dorrell for the coaching job he's done at UCLA; just like Bruin coaches used to praise Paul Hackett
does Illinois have any players with injuries?
GO ILLINI!!!
HAIL TO THE CHIEF!!!
anyway, lookin forward to the game. while the BCS certainly stirred some controversy, it made for a hell of an interesting regular season!

Agreed, but are there any real shock and awe candidates out there?
Maybe, but not that I've heard of. Pete Carroll didn't fit that description when he came to USC. He wasn't even Mike Garrett's first choice (which figures - Garrett's not the sharpest tool in the shed) though he ended up saving Garrett's job. Either way Dorrell wasn't producing - a .500 coach excepting his one 10 and 2 season, which was basically a mirage (and the 2 losses were absolute blowouts) - so a change made sense. Just to underscore things, you should have seen the look on Carroll's face last Saturday (kind of a combination of wtf???? and jubilation) at a critical penalty Dorrell foolishly accepted.
