Philip Rivers played terribly. Bottomline. Isn't winning the game the most important thing? I guess you believe LT was a coward for hanging out on the sideline and not playing? He stood on the sideline. He wasn't exactly limping around like Gates was.
I think Rivers is a talented guy. I think his mouth is going to put a bullseye on his back that many teams will take pleasure in taking aim at.
I think I would've liked to see if Billy Volek, the guy who got all the reps in practice, could've played better then Rivers. That's what I'm saying. Same with what the CBS Studio guys were saying..Cowher/Sharpe..though not Boomer Esiason (shock and awe, a QB sticking up for another QB...noo..that never happens

There is a reason for Volek being the BACK-UP QB. If they thought they had a better chance with him at the helm, he would have been in there.
I see the resoning with LT, as Turner is considered a very good back (and Sproles is FAST!)
what happened to guys gutting it out. Never saw it, but Jack Youngblood from the Rams played a large part of a game on a broken leg. (I think it was the 70s)
I think Philip Rivers wants to take the leadership and the headlines of the Chargers away from LT, Slik....
LT has a lot to answer for. I applaud his cautious approach. He probably only has 3 more good years in the NFL. His knees are his bank account. He has to protect his knees. Gates was a warrior out there too. He was in pain but it's hard to say "I can't play in the game because of my toe"...this is the tough NFL right with a league filled with the toughest SOBs in sports!
Will there be a war in the Chargers clubhouse this offseason?? Hmm....I think so.

why a war? amongst players? coaches? do you mean leadership?
