87 days until the return of NFL Football so today we honor Travis Kelce, tight end with the Kansas City Chiefs. Kelce was instrumental in Kansas City's Super Bowl run this past season as he led the team in receptions and receiving yards. He has been an All-Pro for the past four seasons (First-team 2016, 2018; Second-team 2017, 2019) and has appeared in five Pro Bowls. He was named to the NFL 2010s All-Decade Team during this offseason.

All-Pro safety Jamal Adams has informed the Jets that he would like to be traded. Will be interesting to see how that shakes out as the off-season continues.

77 days until the return of NFL football so today we honor Tyron Smith offensive tackle for the Dallas Cowboys. Smith is a four-time All-Pro (First-team 2014, 2016; Second-team 2013, 2015) and has anchored the Cowboys' offensive line since being drafted in 2011. He was elected to the NFL 2010 All-Decade team this offseason.

Will it return? Not according to SOME PLAYERS. Plus, they've canceled the HOF game and ceremony...not a very good sign...neither story is...

Cam Newton has signed with the New England Patriots. I hope Cam is successful. It will be weird seeing him in a different jersey.

62 days until the return of NFL Football so today we honor Jason Kelce, center for the Philadelphia Eagles. Drafted in the sixth round of 2011, Kelce has far exceeded his late round status and has been named a First-team All-Pro three times (2017-2019). He has won a Super Bowl with the Eagles (LII) and is the older brother of KC Chiefs Tight End Travis Kelce.

The Washington franchise announced today they will be retiring the "Redskins" team name after 87 years. No new name has been announced at this time.

The Washington Post has published an article detailing a culture of verbal abuse and sexual harassment toward female employees at the Washington football franchise over the past 15 years. The article does not say that owner Daniel Snyder was personally involved in any inappropriate behavior.

Situation has some similarities to the one which prompted Jerry Richardson to sell the Panthers at the end of 2017 but without allegations against Snyder personally things may turn out differently. Time will tell.

Yak: thanks for the link. The Post story has been heating up, and I was looking forwards to reading it. Had already heard about the three execs leaving the team this week. Didn't realize related to the upcoming story until just today.

54 days until the return of NFL Football so today we honer Bobby Wagner, middle linebacker for the Seattle Seahawks. Wagner is a 5x First-team All-Pro (2014, 2016-2019) and helped Seattle win a Super Bowl on the back of a historically dominant defense (XLVIII). He was elected to the 2010 NFL All-Decade Team this offseason.

Wow. Pretty good haul for the Jets. I think Seattle is going make noise this year if the season isn't cancelled.

41 days until the return of NFL Football so today we honor Alvin Kamara, running back for the New Orleans Saints. Kamara burst onto the scene in 2017 with an inaugaral campaign which earned him Offensive Rookie of the Year and 2nd-Team All-Pro honors. He has had over 1,000 all-purpose yards in each of his first three seasons and is an exciting member of New Orleands high-powered offense.

After what happened in Buffalo with the Bills and their rookies / early-reporting veterans with injuries - I'll go on record that NO WAY the NFL plays a full complement of games. Skeptical they'll even play 12/13, after a month opening delay. :(

I believe the offseason should be a time of boundless optimism so I am sticking my head in the sand and not thinking about a cancelled season at the moment. In the spirit of said optimism, I am also deluding myself into believing the Panthers will have a successful season despite a new coaching staff with minimal NFL experience, starting 3-5 rookies on defense and having no preseason games to prepare.

The Chicago Bears (yeah, I can't believe it either) are going to top the Chiefs in a forever asterisk-appended championship, after a slightly bumpy, abridged and anomalous season. In the future, we'll not be huge pussies about bad flus, because they'll not likely ever be politicized to the extent this one was, even touching on my beloved professional American football. Assholes. Not you guys. The Chinese. They started it. Digression. 😉

Major League Baseball teams have way less players and staff vs. an NFL Football team and already the wheels are falling off immediately at the start of the season courtesy of Covid-19. If THAT is happening with MLB ... starting the NFL Football season is going to be a Cluster Fuck. Heck, I don't see how even making it through Training Camp will not be a disaster.
