Cam Newton is only doing well because their defense is awesome this year. If it was up to him to win games, Carolina would still suck.

I do not agree with what you say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it.

Pocket-passer Kirk Cousins, who accounted for three turnovers in that loss versus Atlanta, is trade-bait for the Redskins, plain and simple. You don't give up what the 'Skins gave up for RG3 and bail on him after one subpar year, especially in light of that atrocious offensive line of theirs. Moreover, head coach Mike Shanahan has divided the locker room in D.C. with his strategy of leaking gossipy, "Don't-blame-me!" stuff about the team to his pals in the press (just as he did in Denver) and will be shown the door, along with the rest of his incompetent coaching staff, at the end of the season.

yeah they are hoping that with this years qb's coming out of college being thin, since several decided to return to school, that Kirk might get them a first rounder. Personally i see a 2 and 4 that could upgrade to 3 based on play. Kirk is a much better option than some of these qb's coming out i think most of this group is late first to 2nd round talent and no are worth the top 5 picks

Congrats to The Sheriff. 51 TD passed in 15 games is remarkable. Peyton has been on an absolute roll this year. Without a doubt he is the greatest regular season quarterback of all-time. I hope Denver wins every game in the playoffs in which they don't play Indianapolis.

Speaking of the Colts... they looked damn good today on the road in KC. Efficient on offense with a good running game and finally hard nosed, team defense. It looks like they're peaking at just the right time.

This shall be a day long remembered. On October 7th, the Panthers were 1-3, rumors were circulating that the team had begun vetting candidates to replace Ron Rivera and there was talk of benching Cam Newton. Now they have clinched a playoff spot and are a win over the hapless Falcons away from the NFC South title and a first round bye in the playoffs. Today, life is good.

How about them Lions? This year and how it ended up is pretty much indicative of the essence of what they are. I said earlier that clutching defeat from the jaws of victory was something they did well, and they did it spectacularly this year both as a year as a whole and in just about half their games.

I don't know what happened to Ron Rivera this year. It's like at some point in the year somebody switched his brain with one that knows how to coach football in a strategically better way. Or at least gave him the ability and the balls to know when to do things like go for it on forth down and not do the tactically worse option because conventional wisdom said so and one is scarred of what the media will say if it doesn't work out.

It's criminal that the Kansas City Queefs are taking up a playoff spot. The Colts absolutely dominated in all phases, it wasn't even close despite the score. Indy will beat KC worse in 2 weeks, its easy to win 11 games when they play 3rd stringers every week , not one good win by that team. Congrats to those Colts.

Three lullabies in an ancient tongue
Luke Kuechly. That is all.

Kuechly is a tackling machine and damn-well might win it (amongst others) since his team his playoff bound and Quinn's isn't. Also, impossible to compare the two players since one is a dominating LB and the other is a dominating DE. Quinn's stats speak for themselves....leads the league in sacks (18) and forced fumbles (7). The dude is a DC's nightmare. Giving him his duly-deserved props.

Interesting they would hire a coach who couldn't get his team to a bowl game in either of his first two seasons.

I don't know much about O'Brien, but for the most part it seems what makes a coach successful in the NCAA is highly divergent from what makes him successful in the NFL. In the NFL things like managing personalities and knowing the Xs and Os well is much more valuable as opposed to the NCAA where success is about 95% the ability to recruit great players.

^^ You know your fans are not used to winning when they celebrate a division title. That means precisely dick.

Are the Bears trying to lose? I don't get it. It's still fun to watch though. :D

As much as I like Peyton, here's the difference between him and Tom Brady: if I told you told you today that the Broncos would lose at home in the divisional round, you wouldn't be surprised. Peyton has done that several times. But if I told you the Patriots would lose in their first playoff game, you'd be very surprised. Traditionally, for whatever reason, Peyton cannot translate regular season success into postseason success. Tom Brady excels in the playoffs.

Measure success however you want, but only one of the those two QBs seems to show up when it counts.

Side note: I see Indy winning their first playoff game and then losing in the divisional round. Defense is still too inconsistent. And oh yeah, no running game or pass protection.

A mistake by Andron?! We're doomed!
