We will all be free once.
His opponents are getting closer the last two seasons, maybe because he's a bit too much of a workhorse off-season. Training too hard, I guess, and during the winter forgetting about his technique. Skating at such speed for about 3 miles is technically very difficult, and he's moving and pushing with his body far more than, say, three and four years ago.
Anyway, I'm glad for him he won. I think he deserves it. He's been reigning for the last four seasons and only got silver and bronze in Torino 2006, whilst 19 years of age.
Maybe this victory will relax him a bit. He'll have another go at gold at the 10k and the Team Pursuit. I'll keep my thumbs up for him. Of course it's sensational if an outsider wins, but every Olympics need their Heroes and Heroines, too!

Just enjoy the round robin. It's a great sport.
Also, if you think it is a joke sport, would you be willing to put on skates and go a few rounds with these women? They'd ring your bell. Mine too.

Oh yes that was an incredible finish....a great finishing kick by Lamy-Chappuis. Congratulations to him but what a great day for the USA in that event....Johnny Spillane took the silver (the first EVER medal in that event by an American) and another American, Todd Lodwick, finished 4th. Outstanding!
One other comment....anybody else out there absolutely despise this Dale Begg-Smith douchebag (an expatriated Canadian now skiiing for Australia) who made millions as an internet spammer and malware merchant? Not only does he make his living by fucking with the privacy rights of individuals but he turned his back on his native country when they gave him grief over these dubious business activities. Plus, he's a real dickhead to the press. Nothing against my Australian friends but....this guy's a total asshole. I hated to see him win the sliver in the men's moguls last night.
