Tell me that somebody else is watching the fucking hockey game. I've been on the edge of my seat since the game started. 20 minutes of hockey left. I really hope the US can hold on. Not getting my hopes up though...

Of course I'm watching the hockey game.
I'm wondering if they should have played Luongo in this game. Brodeur usually is great at handling the puck, but so far he's made two mistakes that lead to a goal.

Marty has had some hella good saves in net though. Miller has been as good as advertised.

He had a couple, but when you are playing against Ryan Miller, you can't make mistakes, which is what he has done this game. I can't see Brodeur starting any more games. Look for Luongo to take the nod against Germany and Russia.
And on another note, that was one hell of a nice empty netter.

Hell of a fucking game! That was nonstop action all night long. If every game was like this, hockey might be relevant in the United States. The weight on Team Canada has to be enormous right now. This loss will not go over very well.

I don't even like hockey, but that was a great game. I hope USA and Canada both make the Gold Medal game, because that would be a GREAT rematch.
They are better than advertised....Ryan Miller was huge in the 3rd. The last 4minutes of the game was pretty much in USA's defensive zone. They got it done,period. Great game.

Miller was absolutely phenomenal in net tonight for you Yanks. That was a well fought victory; America deserved to win that one.
Canada now has to face Germany, and the winner of that match faces Russia. So much for the expected final, huh? Instead of the high scoring passionate final, we get a quarterfinal match between two dissapointing teams. And given the way Canada has been playing, I don't know if it is a lock that they will even beat Germany. Shit, given the way Canada and Russia have played, I don't think it is a stretch to say that Sweden and the United States are now the favourites.
Miller was amazing. Brodeur sucked donkey balls - he had a couple good saves, but handled the puck badly and mostly just whined like a school girl.
Why did Canada lose tonight? Because they have a lot of good players that played mother fucking shit ass hockey tonight. They were terrible.
Did you see the last couple of minutes of hell storm that Canada brought? The part where they put about 12 shots on goal in about 2 minutes? It could be like that the whole time, but the team is acting like they deserve the gold medal now. That was a disappointing, disheartening performance that makes me want to cheer for Latvia at the next hockey game.

You made us all sad tonight because you didn't play to your potential and you assumed you were going to win.
Please go slam your heads in a toilet and get your shit together before you get eliminated from the gold medal round, if you haven't already done so tonight.

Canada sure has some slugs on their team one of which is Joe Thornton. Why'd they pick him I don't know. Anybody who has watched hockey for the past decade knows that when it's time for a big game, Big Joe is nowhere to be found.

If you're taking 2/3 of the Sharks' top line, why not go all the way and take all three of them? :dunno:
I don't know where any of our offence is. It always seems like Canada's offence never shows up for Olympic games. We were supposed to have a stacked team, the likes of which only Russia could hope to stand up against, and yet, we can't beat Switzerland in regulation and we lost against the Americans. If we don't blow Germany out of the water on Tuesday, I don't see how we can hope to make it past the Russians (Or the Finns. Some reports say Finland, but others say Russia await the winner of Germany/Canada). And given Germany somehow managed to give Sweden a game last week, I can't say I'm not worried.
Apparently, the game against the Russians is supposed to be played at the smaller arena, rather than GM Place. Man, if it is Canada/Russia, they are going to be biting themselves in the ass for that one.
