Worst Song Ever

Way too many but I say anything by Milli Vanilli, Vanilla Ice, Britney Spears and the like, all the boy bands etc...
there are hundreds of thousands of horrible songs but yeah, Poison's Unskinny Bop truly is a stinker, bop bop.
Oh yeah, lots of 80's b-type bands suck too, copycats like LA Guns & so on. Who buys that stuff ?

It's good to be the king...
YES! YES! YES! This song was absolutely awful. I used to think it was by one of the Byker Grove chicks but it wasn't. TERRIBLE song, worst ever. EMBARRASSING to listen to. EMBARRASSING. Eternally burned onto the mind.

The worst thing is, they put it on a NOW compilation, the last song. Fast forward. Blah.

Also, I wonder if Americans know that NOW compilations, which have been out for a few years in these parts, actually started in England in 1983. In England they're already on... what is it... Now sixty-something. Also, in England, they are double-albums (40 hit songs), always were, partly cause we have a lot more hits, a lot more chart movement, and 50 percent more singles released by any given band or artist compared to the gridlocked Billboard charts and the meager 20-song Now compilations in America.

Finally, wasn't Long Haired Lover From Liverpool about Patrick Berger?

Now before i say what it is i just want to say that Steven Seagal is a fantastic actor and everyone of his films have been 100%. But why or why did he decide to sing at the end of Under Siege 2. I don't even know what the song is called, but it's BAD

It's good to be the king...
Makes me sad that I don't know any of those new songs.

I do know Nelly's "Maneater" and I absolutely love it.

I like listening to Girls Aloud because I imagine making love to Kimberly and worshipping her sexy Mancunian body (right?) while the other four are dressed all slutty singing their silly songs to us. I do like "The Show" though.

I also love the Pussycat Dolls song "Buttons", one of the sexiest songs and videos ever.

Gnarls Barkley is good, Keane is great, I hope to god McFly aren't singing a Queen cover version :( how dare they. S.O.S. is just a rip off of Soft Cell.

What a great album the 80s version was... they only got better too... everything from Now 2 up till Now 13 were top. Some of the 20s, 30s and 40s ones were good too.

It's so sad...
My fave record this year is "Crazy" by Gnarls Barkley.
I've heard "Maneater" by Nelly Furtado a couple of times and I've seen the vids for Black Eyed Peas - "Pump It", The Pussycat Dolls (feat. Snoop Dogg) - "Buttonz" & Busta Rhymes - "Touch It"

Yet "Temptation" by Heaven 17 would wipe the floor of all the above records I've just listed, imo....

I was about ready to start a new thread called “Worst Song Ever” when I stopped and thought………………….WWCD. (What would Chef do?)

Answer: Chef would use his search button and find an old thread that covered the same topic. So that’s how I came across a thread from 2+ years ago.

Ice Ice Baby, is the worst f-ing song ever. They played that stupid song when I was out at a Club w/my gf Saturday night. She was singing and dancing that stupid song and talking about how she used to be in love w/Vanilla Ice when she was little. I was so turned off, I didn’t even want to do her at the end of the night.

Philadelphia Freedom - Elton John 1976

This song manages to suck on every level. The productions sounds like they picked bad backing tracks out of the dumpster and had a chimpanzee do the remix.

That and it was pretty much a commercial jingle for tennis star Billie Jean King.
yeah and don't go breaking my heart. godawful

There are some real stinkers on this list.... BTW, only hit singles were considered.

Not that I would defend "We Built this City," it is a bad song, but I don't think I'd choose it as #1. I'm not sure what I'd choose actually, but from just scanning their Top 50, I think I could narrow it down to twelve, in no particular order: (BTW, only hit singles were considered)

1. Achy Breaky Heart ... Billy Ray Cyrus
2. Ice Ice Baby ... Vanilla Ice
3. Party All the Time ... Eddie Murphy
4. Barbie Girl ... Aqua
5. From a Distance ... Bette Midler
6. I'll Be There for You ... The Rembrandts
7. My Heart Will Go On ... Celine Dion
8. Two Princes ... Spin Doctors
9. Will 2K ... Will Smith
10. Rico Suave ... Gerardo
11. I'll Do Anything for Love (But I Won't Do That) ... Meat Loaf
12. Hangin' Tough ... New Kids on the Block

Tough to choose from here... it comes down to Billy Ray's stupid dance vs. Celine's nose vs. Vanilla's Ice's overall gayness. Think I'll give it to Ice, by a hair. ;) (j/k by the way, the "music" speaks loudly enough for these three that appearance makes no difference).

A couple more that should've been on this list IMO, the old, but ever annoying Mickey song by Toni Basil (why do they still play that damn song!), and that Everything I Do by Sting/Adams/Stewart (sorry, I know a few of you like that one, but I fucking HATE it).

Cheers! :)

I will never understand the heat that We Built This City gets. I still sing along with every word when I hear it.

Yes, there are some shitty songs on the list, but there are also some GREAT songs on the list- such as:
What's Up 4 Non Blondes
Everybody Have Fun Tonight (Why pick on this harmless ditty?) Wang Chung
Dancing on the Ceiling Lionel Richie
Heart of Rock and Roll Huey Lewis
I Would do Anything For Love Meat Loaf (1 of the greatest songs ever recorded)
I'll be There For You The Rembrandts (the only reason people got to hate it bwas because of the repetition of hearing it a million times. Otherwise, great song)
Breakfast at Tiffany's Deep Blue Something (Phenomenal song)
Broken Wings Mr. Mister (same as above)
Courtesy of the Red White and Blue Toby Keith (Just because its politically incorrect doesn't make it a bad song)
Sunglasses at Night Corey Hart (Classic eighties tune)
Superman Five for Fighting (LOVE IT)
The Final Countdown Europe (Great metal)
The Sounds of Silence Simon and Garfunkel (This has to be a typo)

She's like the wind - Patrick Swayze

(Reading that "The Final Countdown" list by Red Spyder reminded me of hearing that song while passing 6 Swiss bikers/hogs.... all doing exactly the speed limit, all head to toe in denim with club patches, but with full riding pads and helmets... I shook my head in disbelief for weeks)

I love She's Like the Wind!!
Another nomination, Cher's remake of Walkin' In Memphis. She took an all-time classic and butchered it to hell and back.

Madonna should have been shot in the back of the head for even considering redoing Don McClean's American Pie.
