There are some real stinkers on this list.... BTW, only hit singles were considered.
Not that I would defend "We Built this City," it is a bad song, but I don't think I'd choose it as #1. I'm not sure what I'd choose actually, but from just scanning their Top 50, I think I could narrow it down to twelve, in no particular order: (BTW, only hit singles were considered)
1. Achy Breaky Heart ... Billy Ray Cyrus
2. Ice Ice Baby ... Vanilla Ice
3. Party All the Time ... Eddie Murphy
4. Barbie Girl ... Aqua
5. From a Distance ... Bette Midler
6. I'll Be There for You ... The Rembrandts
7. My Heart Will Go On ... Celine Dion
8. Two Princes ... Spin Doctors
9. Will 2K ... Will Smith
10. Rico Suave ... Gerardo
11. I'll Do Anything for Love (But I Won't Do That) ... Meat Loaf
12. Hangin' Tough ... New Kids on the Block
Tough to choose from here... it comes down to Billy Ray's stupid dance vs. Celine's nose vs. Vanilla's Ice's overall gayness. Think I'll give it to Ice, by a
hair.
(j/k by the way, the "music" speaks loudly enough for these three that appearance makes no difference).
A couple more that should've been on this list IMO, the old, but ever annoying Mickey song by Toni Basil (why do they still play that damn song!), and that Everything I Do by Sting/Adams/Stewart (sorry, I know a few of you like that one, but I fucking HATE it).
Cheers!
