Luck? right, let's see you score against Italy's defence and then you may talk. Only goals Italy suffered were one own goal from Zaccardo and a penalty from Zidane which France didn't deserve. So good game to you, we win, the best defence in the world wins and you can bitch all you like because at the end of the day Italy are the world cup champions!

As for Zidane, I hope he plays for one more season so he won't end his great career with one bad decision.

As for Domenech, I blame you for France's lost. You don't let Trezeguet sit on the bench for the entire tournament, even though Henry asked him to put him in, and you don't take out Henry in the final when your 2 other leaders (Zidane and Vieira) are out.

The 2 bets players were, by far, Cannavaro and Buffon.

I agree Zidane is one of my All-time favorite players and I hope he does say something and explain himself for his actions....Congrats to Italy...

I hope Italy enjoy their win tonight - considering the current condition of Italian football (according to the BBC, the decision on Juve and the other clubs is tomorrow)...

Congrats Italy!

Disasterous decision by Zidane, on par with Rooney's for drastically affecting his team's play. Sadly, no matter what people say about Zidane's legacy, his last game, in the biggest game, will be remembered for the red card.

What a cup nonetheless. I watched probably 90% of the games live, and despite the cards, nearly all of the games were entertaining.

Thanks everyone in this thread to allow a casual fan (Me) state predictions and opinions. See everyone in World Cup: South Africa thread!

Italy HAD TO WIN tonight to try and save their football.
You can't blame it on the players though, it was the management, the players are great, the best in the world, and they have to suffer because of politics and poor management.
