Our country has solved the WM organisations quite well...no bombs, no terrorism, no nazis, no anger...everything went well...this is really a great moment...hundreds of countries, millions of people, strange religions, skins, and cultures...but during that WM, everyone lives in peoce, together...this is really great...unfortunately Zidane didn´t like that feeling...such a great career...and now...unbelievable...i hink his new home is the mars... the only place where he can live now...but anyway, i want to thank all of you outhere...this WM changed Germany forever...thanks....:wave2:

The first penalty was a bit malicious for Italy, no strong fault but watching later in the game the ref forgot a stronger fault that could have cause another french penalty.
Italy also did quite a good match, showed how much their defence is strong, they also succeeded to beat french defence and score the only real goal of this final.
But I maintain that france dominated the game, even at 10vs11 in the last tens mins.
Loosing by penalty isn't really loosing, it just make the loose even more bitter... we miss this worldcup just by a matter of centimeters, zidane shooted his peno on the post and it scored, trezeget shooted the same but don't have the luck of zidane
I think I would have prefered to see france loosing by a 3-1 and being really dominated by italia... it was a damn boring tie game :******:
I think both team played well during the worldcup and showed some amazing football, peno's are cruels, we managed to beat italy at it in '98, we can't win all times...
France return with a silver medals that's not bad at all, 3 weeks ago, I wasn't even hopping them to qualify in the 8th-finals.
Zidane did something bad but like Johan said before, he is not an angel on the grass and already showed before that he have an impulsive temperament (that's not its first headbutt)
Matarazzi may have known that and played with Zidane's nerves, it logically ended up with a deserved headbutt and a deserved red card. I'm also wondering to know what he really said to him..
We still showed some great game without Zidane...

Well I think the French was the far better team and lost sadly. 9inch the first was a penalty but the second your talking about wasn't. They say the Italians was the best team throughout the finals, but I disagree, that was Germany. They played well from the very first game and kept up, the Italians had one or two bad games.
I see England got there just derserves and was picked as the most boring side. But I still blame the manager as did Blatter who announced this.

sad, sad day for zizou, france and the world of football. where to start? I guess from the beggining. both teams were equally great in the first half. Id say italy had the edge as france played a more defensive game saving their energy for the second half and if need-be overtime (which of course there was). italy's corners were all equally dangerous while zizou's penalty made me believe that he would infact take france to glory. not so.
second half- france was playing OVERWHELMINGLY better than italy. ball possesion, chances, italy had nothing on them. it was only a matter of time before all those chances turned into a goal and the header from zidane only made thing seem more optomistic. then out of fucking nowhere, in a fit of rage zidane singlehandedly taints his career, loses the cup for france and disgraces himself in the final game of his professional life. I dont know what that italian player said to him but it mustve struck a nerve to the point where he just snapped. Ive never seen him so un-professional. he lost his cool, his flare. a sad, sad sight.
fast forward to france with one man down. italy still couldnt touch them. france was clearly the better team. italy couldnt get the ball past midfield and france was dominating (albiet without less chances due to zizou's absence) the match. but of course without their captain they just couldnt pull of a goal.
penalty kicks- barthez did his best. I dont blame him. without zizou, the man that never misses a penalty, they were bound to lose. the morale was down, the odds were against them. italy was clearly the favourite here. and so it eneded...on a sad note. all the work, and all the effort, the tactics, the beautiful football, a mans legacy...all down the toilet because of a single mistake.

The point is that you can try to look back at who did or said what, but you will not find the beginning - you can only see the result. It's no excuse from my keyboard for anyone - just a fact that what happens on a field, whispered comments, elbows and the like, is a daily occurance and simply a matter, often, of gettin away with it or getting caught.
