Interesting that Tebow got the most first place votes.

Well, since he (Tebow) is coming back next year, he still has a chance to win another Heisman.

next years Heisman will be a 2 man race....McCoy v Tebow
im assuming bradford goes pro

I am glad Bradford won. It will put alot of pressure on him in the championship game. Put the heisman curse on him.. GO GATORS

As the college football regular season begins to wind down, we will be taking a look at some of the top prospects who should be available for the 2009 NFL Draft come April. One of those guys is Oklahoma quarterback Sam Bradford, who is only a sophomore, but is eligible to enter the draft because he redshirted as a freshman and will be three years removed from his high school graduation when the draft rolls around, as required by the NFL.

The draft is the first chance teams gets to make contract negotiations with players who have been out of high school for three years. Most drafted players come directly out of College Football programs as seniors or juniors, while some players are selected from other professional leagues like the Arena Football League. A player who is drafted but does not sign a contract can sit out that season, which is referred to as a "holdout", and can re-enter the draft the following year unless they were told differently by the NFL commissioner

Wow....it's Bradford. I'm really surprised....not because he didn't deserve it but more for the fact that he's just a sophomore and the other 2 candidates were so worthy.

Oh well, maybe it's Oklahoma's year all around. Congats, Sam. You had an awesome year.

:glugglug:

Turns out Bradford is a 2V Junior. Either way the media got its favorite. Wonder how he'll perform in the Bowl now that he won the trophy. I bet he hopes better than Troy Smith did. :1orglaugh

Sorry. I meant Tebow is a 2V Junior, not Bradford.

Im a big Sooner fan, but I really think McCoy should have won the Heisman. He just means so much more to his team than Bradford did. I mean the guy lead his team in rushing(over 500 yards) for crying-out-loud.

I think what really helped Bradford is that he hasn't had a bad game all year. He even had 387 yards passing w/ 5 TDs in the loss to Texas. Bradford hasn't been touched all year with that offensive line, plus Oklahoma also has great WR including a top 5 NFL draft prospect Jermain Gresham whos a TE. Plus we got two 1,000 rushers. This offense is LOADED!

You mean like a Heisman trophy winning QB going in the 5th round of the draft the year he wins it? :1orglaugh It's things like that, that make me say the Heisman trophy is about worthless anymore.

Ahh, ignorance like yours is just so delicious. NFL teams draft players based on what they need and how a particular player will fill their needs. Troy Smith's skill set didn't meet or fit the needs of any NFL teams and he was never projected to be a star QB in the NFL, so your argument is completely and utterly flawed.

1 Sam Bradford, Oklahoma (R-Soph) Nation's leader in both touchdowns (48) and quarterback rating (186.29). After two seasons as a starter, Bradford's 84 career touchdowns set a school record.
2 OT, Michael Oher, Ole Miss Oher (6' 6" 320 lbs) has all the tools to be a pro bowl tackle. He slides very well, finishes his blocks and has a nice punch.
3 QB Matt Stafford, Georgia (JR) Stafford is one of the top QBs in the nation, he doesn't throw on the run very good, but has a cannon for an arm while in the pocket.
4 WR, Michael Crabtree, Texas Tech (Soph)
The top receiver in the nation is a draft eligible sophomore. He won his second straight Biletnikoff Award. Crabtree caught 18 touchdown passes, and has 93 receptions for 1,135 yards.
5 LB, Aaron Curry, Wake Forest Curry is just flying up the draft boards. He is a very explosive, talented linebacker with nice size (6' 3" 247 lbs). Winner of the 2008 Butkis Award.
6 DE/OLB, Brian Orakpo, Texas A pass rushing specialist and at 6' 4" 258 could also play some linebacker. Orakpo won the 2008 Bronco Nagurski Award.
7 OT, Andre Smith, Alabama (JR) Smith is huge at 6' 4" 330 pounds. He won the 2008 Outland Trophy. Smith reminds me of the Cowboy's OG Leonard Davis.
8 DT, B. J. Raji, Boston College Raji is a monster at 6' 1" 325 pounds. In 2008 he recorded 11 tackles for loss (TFLs) and 6.5 sacks. A great nose guard prospect that creates havoc on the inside.
9 OT, Jason Smith, Baylor Smith is a super talented offensive lineman and can move in and start right away at left tackle. Smith has the best feet of all the O-linemen in this draft.
10 CB, Malcolm Jenkins, Ohio State I was surprised Jenkins didn't enter the 2008 NFL Draft, where he would have been a top 20 selection. Jenkins won the 2008 Jim Thorpe Award.
11 LB, Brian Cushing, USC Cushing (6' 4" 255 lbs) had a great senior year. He lead the top ranked Trojan defense with 10 tackles for loss TFLs), 2.5 sacks and 6 pass break ups.
12 LB, Rey Maualuga, USC Maualuga (6' 2" 260 lbs) battled injuries this year, but when healthy he is as good as it gets. Winner of the 2008 Bednarik Award.
13 LB, James
Laurinaitis,Ohio State Laurinaitis won the Butkis Award in 2007 and could have been a top ten pick if he would have entered the 2008 NFL Draft.
14 OT, Eugene Monroe, Virginia Monroe (6' 5" 315 lbs) has great feet, but doesn't stay on his blocks as long as Michael Oher or Jason Smith.
15 FS, William Moore, Missouri Moore didn't have a great year in 2008, but he is still an elite prospect with nice size at 6' 1" 215 lbs. In 2008 he recorded 83 tackles, 5.5 TFLs, 1 INT and 5 pass break ups.

Has Auburn become the laughing stock of college football or what? Chizik? Are you kidding? I am just glad we haven't lost Charlie Strong yet. We already lost Dan Mullen and we got to get someone to replace him. It doesn't look like he will be calling the plays in the championship game. Hope that doesn't hurt us. GO GATORS

the quater back, and the gators they might not win. Unless they stop sending there linebackers out in cover 2, oaklahoma always bites down. they don't have a choice.

eggsactly how i feel.

Go Gators!!

p.s. college football is different than pro football. the Heisman is not and was never supposed to be an indicator of NFL success, instead it rewards a player for collegiate accomplishments and therefore anyone who claims the Heisman to be "worthless" is clueless.
