Yes, Kucinich is another straight-talker non-liar. I happen to agree with DK on everything, fwiw...

Dennis Kucinich is da man!

Even "free market" libertarians believe there is a role for the government to make sure people aren't gaming the system, enforcing the law, etc... but 80% of what the Feds do these days is just waste money on broken programs that employ lots of people who couldn't even land a job in the private sector because they are unqualified and borderline retarded... I see it every single day, the apathy, the incompetence, and the wasting of billions of tax dollars that would be better spent by the people who EARNED that money.

One of the reasons that I respect Ron Paul is the same reason that the (make believe) fiscal conservatives in the Club for Growth don't like him: Paul is for free trade ONLY when it's also fair trade. He opposes NAFTA (as I do) and he opposes the WTO (as I do). He basically opposes these trade agreements that do nothing more than ship American jobs out of this country and bring cheap, foreign crap back on the return trip. The Club for Growth's attitude is, if that's what happens, then that's what happens. I question their patriotism. My belief is, once their kind ruins this nation, they'll just learn to speak Spanish or Chinese and they'll move somewhere else, like the carpet baggers that they are. When it comes to the military, the U.S. doesn't mind flexing its muscles. But when it comes to trade disputes, we're the biggest pussies in the whole world. Bush did next to nothing in regard to trade disputes... other than roll over and take it in the ass. I have to give Obama credit for pushing more cases than Bush did. But the WTO is a rolling joke. In the grand scheme, nothing is going to matter until we get an administration that is playing for the home team 100%.

Paul's problem would be finding enough like minded people who wouldn't pull his Free (FAIR) Trade beliefs off track.

So here are the questions then...

Do "Free Market" Libertarians support the free movement of capital and labor throughout the U.S.? Free movement of labor means no restrictions on immigration. Free movement of capital means no capital gains taxes and other taxes.

I can only speak for myself, but protecting the rights of US citizens is just as paramount as free markets, so the issue of illegal immigration is a tough one... Most do favor a flat tax of some sort, so capital can be taxed, but probably at a lower rate.

The capital gains tax is already significantly lower than normal income tax.And thats a crime IMO.What it means is people who earn money off investments (the wealthy) get to pay a lower rate than people who earn their living via wages (workers).

People talk about class warfare but the truth is the war is over and the wealthy won the war at the expense of the rest of us.If that is what so called libertarians /conservatives think is fair I think we should fairly find a wall to put them against.:ak47:

How is it "fair" to take larger portions of money from people who have more? 15% is 15%, whether you make $100k or $100mil. I see your point on the differential between capital gains and salary, so why don't we lower them both instead of letting Washington waste it? :dunno:

Also, keep in mind that the the top 5% pay around 60% of the tax revenue, while the lowest 30% or so not only pay nothing, but get "free" stuff.

I think a flat tax would be great personally, no deductions, no loopholes, everyone pays 12% or so, no exceptions. That is "fair" IMHO.

Paul's an isolationist who would have had us out of Afghanistan and stood by as our economy crumbled and quite naturally provoking a worldwide depression.

I like many of the things he stands for in the civil liberties sense but you need to be more than a 1 trick pony as a POTUS.

We just saw what happens when you have a one trick pony who believed cutting taxes while not paying for any of it is the only thing you need to do.

A president of this country needs to have a broad, pragmatic perspective. Ideologues are only good for one thing (un)think tanks.:2 cents:

Ron Paul is against the rights of gays, women, working people, the sick and the elderly... but hey, he wants to legalize weed.

I almost feel the need to start negative repping you when you use that word. Seriously, back off, man. Your neocon campaign must come to an end at some point. Please make it now. please?

Anti-free speech in the closet NeoCons can go to hell for attempting to control and censor my right to free speech

Against the rights of gays? You mean because he believes gay marriage should be a State matter? The way Obama, Biden and Clinton believe it should be a state matter?

I find it weird that we now consider Federal wellfare programs "Rights" these days. Ron Paul is an OBGYN who's treated low income, uninsured familes for decades, ands I admire that. But what I admire more is that he believes that you shouldn't have to do the same.
