TB 5 - SJ 2!

that was an impressive game. James Wright had his first career goal, Smitty stopped 32 of 34 (take that critics) and Tanguay had the opportunity of an empty net goal at the end but passes it to Stamkos who was more open to ensure it went in. he's a team player for sure.

What is it now? Five starts for old Marty? and in those first five starts, has he only had one victory?

that's the Smitty we know, that's the Smitty we see more often than not. he's been rusty this year, but i still maintain he's an outstanding goalie (as tonight proves)

Damn, I am LOVING the Coyotes this year. 3-2 over the Red Wings in overtime.

Nice win indeed , the only thing that's bothering me is that Vinny still doesn't have a goal this year after 8 games !! what's going on with him ?

i think i may know (at least part of) the problem with Vinny this year.

look at his Time On Ice stats for this year. they're down from the previous years. probably because he and Marty aren't our only "go to" guys for goals now. his role as the guy everybody knew was gonna get the puck doesn't seem to be as prevalent with Stammer, Tango and Bugsy also having come to the team.

plus our 3rd and 4th liners are finally getting in on the action. they have more options now so he's not getting all the opportunities we're used to seeing him get. Vinny will get goals, but 52 in '06-'07 may be his career high mark.

wow. did anybody see the hit Tuomo Ruutu threw on Darcy Tucker? Tucker got hit from behind and left the ice on a stretcher. he was only moving his right leg and arm when they took him off.

Tuomo was given a 5 minute boarding call and was thrown out of the game. what the hell is wrong with the Ruutus?

yesterday they where talking about Vinny on rds and they came up with a ridiculous theory that Lecavalier is playing poorly on purpose because he wants to punish the owners for supposedly trying to trade him last season ( completly untrue ) . I think you are right in your analysis of the situation with Vinny plus I think he is still not completely 100 % from his injuries of the past seasons.

and the streak ends. Lecavalier gets his first of the season. St. Louis has now had at least 1 point in every game this season.

ok Tango, now get yours

it's like i'm a psychic or something

can't blame Smith for this one. he stopped 6 shots but Tampa failed to score in the SO.

Buffalo definitely escaped with a win. I couldnt believe Vinny's shot hit the cross bar:eek: Nice move by Myers though:thumbsup:

Anybody see the hit Richards laid on David Booth. I think he should get suspended due to his history, and Im a Richards fan.

yeah, Richard's will DEFINITELY be suspended for that hit. because he's done it in the past (2005 to Petrovicky in Atlanta) he should get 10 games instead of 3.

Well, you CAN, actually (I know it's hard for you to believe). Smith did let in the goal with 16.1 seconds left. :dunno:

When Ryan Miller is in a shootout, it is hard to be a better goalie than he is.

Are you two clowns serious? Mike should be suspended due to his history? The hit on Petrovicky a couple years ago? He wasn't suspended for that hit or any other hit that you can currently look up on youtube. That must be the history you're talking about. No previous suspensions would mean Mike Richards is not a repeat offender. He averages one penalty every two games so your suspension due to history just went out the window.

Mike will likely be suspended for about 2 or 3 games. The 10 game suspension is a little ridiculous so pull your head out of your ass.

Mike really shouldn't be suspended though for the following reasons.

1) He did not lead with the elbow. It was his shoulder.

2) He did not leave his feet to make contact.

3a) Not a repeat offender

3b) We all feel bad for David Booth but let's face it he put himself in that position. You do not under any circumstance look behind you to admire your cute drop pass or put your head down as you enter the offensive zone. David Booth was not paying attention to his surroundings and Mike Richards took full advantage which is what any other player would have done.

he wouldn't have let that in if they could clear the zone. that's happened twice now. sloppy play leads to bad goals.
