i've said we've had trouble scoring :dunno:
I know, but that is still not a reason to only blame the offence. The defence let 40 shots from the worst team in the league get to your goalie, for instance. Nitty may have played a good game, but it was against a team that is considerably worse than Tampa; though I do give him credit for stopping Kessel.
Look at his stats. He has a save percentage of .940 - highest in the league as of right now - and faces an average of 28.8 shots per game. But he has only played six games, and the majority of them were against teams that are poor offensively. Looking at his record, his save percentage is significantly lower against teams that are strong on offence; namely, Pittsburgh and Philadelphia. Tampa's schedule for November doesn't include any games against teams I would call offensively gifted - save for games against Pittsburgh, New York, and Los Angeles - so I would say that his stats in those games is how it should be decided if he is a good goalie, or just an average one.
Of course, this is assuming Tampa goes with Nitty over Smitty, which, given their choices so far in the season, isn't all that likely.
