Yeah,the only time that he has really come through was against The Bears in '06,but that was more The Bears and Rex Grossman blowing it than Peyton winning it.
Manning is like a player version of Marty Schottenheimer.Regular season stats are off the charts,but post season is quite poor,though Manning did win one Superbowl.
Actually,now that I think about it,what Denver should do is try to sign Eli to back up Peyton.Let Peyton play the regular season,then when the playoffs start,make Eli the starter.That's an almost unstoppable combination.
Pure and simple the better team won.

Seattle's defense is just so smothering, they're so fundamentally sound and leave such a small margin for error. In all three phases Seattle just dominated that game.

Wow I didn't see this kinda blowout coming. I'm sure no one, not even the hardest Seahawks fans, did.
I guess it's right what they say, offense wins games, defense wins championships. Their defense was just ridiculous. And well nothing worked for the Broncos. I don't think it was all Manning's fault. He didn't lead his guys well, but he has over 30 completions (new SB record) for 280 yards. The whole team just sucked. Okay maybe a regular season Manning would have pulled the Broncos through better than that, but the Seahawk were just too good tonight and the Broncos just didn't look like they really wanted it.
Congrats to the Seahawks and all the 12s. I think this whole season was a fan effort. They couldn't have played such a great season (especially at home) without those fans.

Announcers said that was fifth SB where #1 DEF team has played #1 OFF team. The #1 DEF team is now 4-1. I learned my lesson! Offense fills the stands, but Defense wins championships!
I think many teams will look upon the style that Seattle plays with the cover 3 & tall rangy conerbacks & try to emulate it. But it will not be easy as you also have to have 4 good down linemen on your DEF front to pressure the opposing QB without having to blitz.
