NFL '11 Season Thread

In his brief tenure as AFL Commissioner he encouraged owners to aggressively pursue NFL stars and also helped convince 3 NFL teams (Cleveland, Pittsburgh, Baltimore) to jump from the NFL to the upstart AFL which led to the merger.

That's not exactly how it happened. Those three teams moved to the AFC after the merger to balance out the conferences.

Al Davis did know the game in his day. He could take retreads and has-beens and make them work in a system. Jim Plunkett was a wash out and he won two Super Bowls with the Raiders. Al did have a tendency to overdraft speed. The fastest guy in the world won't help if he can't catch the ball. But he did love the deep passing game.

Pucker Up Butter Cup.
The Chiefs making Painter look like a Pro Bowler, and my friends wonder why I grew up a Packers fan? :1orglaugh

At least andronicus can take comfort knowing the Colts even in their bad year are still better than the Chiefs at least.

To me Buffalo is the real thing, thats why the Eagles are getting beat so bad. The Eagles are like the Boston Red Sox this baseball season, they signed so many big name guys for a ton of money, but they lost track of the teams real weakness and its come back to bite them (the Red Sox forgot to address pitching, the Eagles forgot about the linebackers and D-line)

He's going to flip out, all Chiefs in the second half for a 28-24 victory, Bowe and Battle with huge days!

I'm so horny, even the crack of dawn isn't safe
Saint's with ANOTHER 4TH quarter comeback. Drew now in 3rd place all times in consectutive games throwing a touchdown pass. 4 behind Farve. He'll beat him this season. Johnny U. has the Record at 48 st. games.

WHO DAT

While interesting that's kind of a junk stat as are most records that are based of something happening like that consecutively in each game. :dunno:

I wanna see New England play Baltimore, or maybe Detroit...somebody with an actual pass rush. The Jets are supposed to have a decent pass rush, but they didn't get to Brady all day. He didn't throw a lot of deep balls. Don't the Pats have one of the worst D's in the league or something? Makes one wonder....:wtf:

Major Crimes? Shiiiit.
I'm happy the Pats won and I wish they would go back to the classic "Pat Patriot" logo. I prefer it to the newer one.

Brady got sacked 4 times. The Jets did a somewhat decent job in getting to him. Wasn't good enough though.

If the Pats play Baltimore, it'll be in the playoffs. If they play Detriot, it'll be in the Super Bowl.

Basically, watching the Pats this year has been like this...

"Pats have the ball. Great! I'm confident they'll score!!!"

"Pats D is on the field. Fuck! The other team will score!!!"

Tebow was the only reason that game came down to the last play. Kyle Orton had something going on in his head, he just did not look right coming off the field at the end of each possesion and it was noticable on one play late in the first half when he had all kinds of room to scramble for 5 or 10 yards when everyone was covered, and he just through the ball away with no intention of getting free yards. The Chargers, nor anyone up to this point, did not practice for Tim Tebow tho, so assuming John Fox does the right thing, other teams will prepare for Tim Tebow, what he does from here should be interesting. Tim Tebow adds the element of mobility and elusiveness tho, something the Broncos need from their QB with that O-line.

He's just gutsy. He only went 4 for 10 but his body language is just so positive and you can tell he is a damn gutsy QB and a fighter. Made some impressive plays and I was just wishing that hail marry would have connected. How cool would that have been?

He reminds me of Doug Flutie.

the main thing about this performance was that he had no reps with the first team, so he was going to be rusty early on, but once he got enough plays in, he put his own spark in the stagnant offense.
