NFL '11 Season Thread

Why in the fuck hasn't that inept fuckhole Tony Sparano been fired yet? So what if he found out you were fixing to 86 him? DO IT ALGODDAMNREADY!!! Proof that he's the root of the problem is that after 3 different offensive coordinators the offense still plays like a pop warner team. Hell, the pop warner team that I played on was much more efficient than the Dolphins.

I wouldn't place bets on Cam Newton ending up in elite territory, not just yet anyhow, but I have to admit that when a rookie quarterback shows that much promise early in his career is extremely encouraging. He also still makes rookie mistakes.

He looks like he's not going to be one of those people that doesn't get it or washes out. That's a lot better than most people get with a high draft pick for a quarterback.

He was given a few years grace period after turning the Dolphins from a 1-15 team into a division champ the following year. That's the biggest one-season turnaround in NFL history. Unfortunately, he hasn't done shit since and has pretty much used up all that goodwill.

The Patriots continue to frustrate. Sure, they won and the final score was lopsided but the Pats defense keeps making whatever offense they face look like the Patriots offense. They just march up and down the field at will.

Belichick needs to ramp up that D or it could be a long season.

Jimmy Clausen had his chance last season, and granted no one couldve done anything with the O-line they had last year, but he didnt show anything or the Panthers wouldnt have ultimately had the first overall pick. Cam Newton landed in the right place with the right coach. Ron Rivera is willing to change to the playbook a bit to accomidate his specialty skills as a QB which is what young quarterbacks need to adapt to the NFL environment. Cam Newton in the long run could prove to be one of those players like Peyton Manning in Indy and N. Suh in Detroit who changed the culture and attitude on his team. Early to say, but he is on that track.

Nobody on that coaching staff did a damn thing to put Jimmy Clausen in a position to succeed. Not only that, but teammates like Steve Smith totally quit on him. John Fox is doing the same shit right now in Denver: Watching the ship sink from the shore. You can't stick a rookie QB in with teammates that don't give a fuck and a lame duck coach and say '...now get in there and WIN!'

Baaaaaaaahahahahahahah Philadelphia. bahahahahahahahaha. Way to make Alex Smith look like a hall of famer. bahahahahahahahaha

San Fran is 3-1. The division is ours!!! bahahahahahahaha

Epic meltdown by the Cowboys today. I guess the Lions aren't really fucking around this year are they?

Well, they sorta are fucking around. They can't seem to play until they spot the other team a 20+ point lead.

I won't complain though haha. (Except for to say, I wish we had a different QB than Stafford. I wish like 'the dickens' there was some way for the Lions to get Luck...then the Lions would be undeniably legit. Not a big believer in Stafford just yet but we'll see.)

That's crazy talk. Stafford is a baller.

I think the Lions flip a coin in the locker room before the game to determine if they blow you out in the 1st half, or humiliate you with a comeback in the 2nd half. :1orglaugh

I don't like his pocket presence at times. The guy tap dances in the pocket like he channeling Fred Astaire sometimes. But hey...it could work out...look at how it worked out for another well known pocket tap dancer..P Manning.

The kid hardly played his first 2 seasons with injuries. Now he's finally gettin' to show why he was the #1 pick.

I think you should be pretty happy.

Another reason I would rather have Luck. Stafford is unlucky.(Get it.)

That and he has a bunch of genetic freaks of athletic nature around him.
I think you should be pretty happy.

I should be.:( Stafford should be more of a gamer....he seems dearish at times.

Detroit didn't have to win a couple of those games there and were behind big due in part to Stafford failing to make some plays.

But hey...when it comes to the Lions...can anyone really bitch about them being undefeated???

I think people can see both sides of the argument. On the one hand what Stafford is doing is not all that different from when Culpepper just use to launch it up and let Randy Moss go and get it, as that's what he's able to get away with with a phenom like Calvin Johnson. However Stafford is clearly very talented and obviously a prototypical franchise qb.

This gives me an idea.

Uh-oh..(I smell smoke STD). Don't do it...whatever it is you're thinking.

This is like when someone says, 'watch this'. (What tends to immediately follow is the sound of ambulance sirens.:1orglaugh)

The one and only.
Is anyone seriously wanting to watching tonight's game?
:dunno:

Yes, I do. Not that I think the Colts will win, but I genuinely want to see how well Painter (CP7) plays in his first NFL start. He had a couple decent seasons at Purdue - 3,800 yards and 32 total TDs in 2007 for example. I think that he's a capable QB and I hope he does well.

This season is lost, but I'm still going to watch every game. Indy had 9 straight seasons where they won at least 10 games. I watched them when they were great, and I'll watch them when they struggle, painful as that might be. I've got pizza and friends on the way plus beer in the fridge.

Go Horse!

A true fan right here! That's what I like to see. I am so sick of all the bandwagon fans drowning everyone out.

No. I have a hard time watching games that don't involve the team that I'm a fan of. I just don't have any rooting interest so I find it hard to sit through a whole game, I don't really care who wins.
