Seriously how old are you?

:nono: Don't be a hater.

Dan Gilbert was one of the owners that didn't want CP3 in LA.

Gilbert probably isn't the best person to explain the trade but when you think about it... The trade was disgustingly in favour of the Lakers. Fully legal, of course, but it almost seems like they tried to take advantage of every avenue that they could.

Players spent the lockout trying to make sure that this could happen and the owners spent the lockout trying to prevent this from happening. First day, too. Jesus.

Paul is only signing an extension in New York or L.A. Do the owners actually think they're doing New Orleans a favour? Do they not understand getting something is better than nothing? The owners **** the bed on the cba, now they have to accept that its going to be the same old **** for the next 6 years.

How do you figure? The Lakers give up 2 All-Stars, one being the reigning 6th man of the year for an All-Star PG. This trade, IMO, favored the Hornets more so than anyone else involved. The Hornets get 3 fantastic, established players in Odom, Scola and Kevin Maritn, they get an up and coming Steve-Nash-type PG in Dragic and a 1st round draft pick in the 2012 draft. Consider that if they don't end up going through with this trade that, ultimately, the Hornets will receive an underwhelmed, unmotivated Chris Paul for 66 games, and then he walks at the end of this season and the Hornets get nothing.

On par, the Hornets were actually getting the best end of this deal. I don't really understand how anyone can argue differently. It just doesn't make any sense. The "competitive balance" of the league will suffer without this trade. Martin, Scola, Odom, Dragic and Emeka Okafor seem like a pretty tough starting 5 to me. Now you get a less than satisfied, ********* player in Chris Paul and other than that, Okafor and Trevor Ariza are the only players on that team that are not free agents that are worth anything. Silly.

I believe it was Avery Johnson who said 'Merry Christmas LA' when the Pau Gasol trade went down. This is the same with the caveat that the trade with Memphis was a charity donation, the trade for Chris Paul was a gift exchange, only the Lakers gave more in return as far as number of players goes

Houston wanted Gasol, and wanted to get rid of Kevin Martin's contract. Still, they got fucked in this deal. Martin, Scola AND 1st? Who else plays for that team?? Courteny Lee, Chase Budinger and who else?? Bad trade for Houston.

That was just one piece of the puzzle, Diva. The plan was to land Nene and put Gasol at the four....instantaneously making the Rockets a helluva lot longer and giving them a much better post-up presence. Last year, their center was 6'6" Chuck Hayes. Patrick Patterson can move into Scola's spot and Lee becomes the 2-guard. Then, the piece-de-resistance would be to hopefully land Deron Williams as a free agent next year. The Rockets need to either get better or tank it because they will never be able to build around a marquee player from the draft if they stay mired in mediocrity as they have been the past 2 years.

It is a fucking travesty how King Stern ****** the CP3 deal. I feel for the Hornets because they made out pretty good in that deal considering the fact that they were trading their franchise player. My question is though what was the point of the lockout then if we're right back where we started, the lockout had happened largely to stop big-market teams from leveraging small-market teams for star players pending free agency.

I'm thinking more about the role that the Rockets played in the deal than the Hornets. It seems like the Rockets are the ones taking all the risk in the deal solely so the Lakers can land CP3 and still theoretically have the means to make a serious run at Dwight Howard. The Lakers give up two great players, sure, but in the end they could possibly land two even better players. Meanwhile, the Hornets essentially get everything good from the Rockets INCLUDING a first round pick. Meanwhile, what do the Rockets get for their role in this entire thing? Gasol? Sorry. He's a good player but he isn't worth all the pieces that they gave up. It would make sense if they were trying to land Nene or another free agent like Jagger says, but it still seems like a very large ****** for them to take, almost like "ok, we'll take the risk for the Lakers and hopefully the karma from it will send a free agent our way."

wait, so chris paul isnt going to l.a.? what happened exactly?

thats gonna put a wrench in everyones plans.

whats going on with gilbert arenas too? i havent heard if he's on the market or not. if he goes back to how he used to play, i wouldnt mind him in phx dishing with nash.

Stern vetoed the deal for "basketball reasons" which apparently is business speak for "a bunch of small-market owners filed complaints about Paul holding the Hornets hostage for a trade right after they spent an entire lockout trying to fix that issue."

Lamar Odom acting up on the first day of practice today and I can't says I blame him.
I wouldn't want to play for those cunts either after they TRIED to trade me.

so will he allow battier to the lame ass heat then? same fucking thing if you ask me.

What exactly is in the new CBA that helps small market teams protect their assets? The right to whine? Why was there no franchise tag? Why is there no hard cap?

Because Stern doesn't have a fucking backbone. He tries to pretend he does with **** like this but he didn't have the balls to cancel an entire season in order to do what was good for the league.

No ****, eh. Fucking Lakers and their insensitive, unforeseen front office. As if that's not going to ruffle feathers among their players. Fuck them.

Sorry Plump Rump!

Trading players is insensitive? Does he hold resentment to Miami too? It's part of the game, LO. Don't get your panties in a bunch.
