I fucking hate remakes but even I have to admit that the Evil Dead remake just looks awesome.

Saw it a while back...Not a bad flick but had nothing on the originals IMO...Kinda made me sleepy and grossed out at the same time....really didn't deserve to be called a re-make because it was so different from the original....The special effects and costumes for the possessed zombies had nothing on the originals, and the Dark humor and personality of Bruce Campbell was a HUGE missing element. Overall worth checking out though.

I've seen alot of other cool horror flicks lately but I can't remember the names of them all right now.

Ethan Hawke should be in more horror flicks.

The Innkeepers was fucking terrible. The characters were extremely bland, and the story,as you said was way too slow. Not only that,I found that the acting was pretty poor, and quite frankly, the movie wasn't very tense or scary at all.I also watched House Of The Devil, and while it was better,it was pretty piss poor too.I think Ti West is kind of a hack to be honest, and his movies have no real artistry to them.

Odd, I thought the characters were the only good thing about The Innkeepers. I really dug the chemistry between the two, but it wasn't enough to save the movie from a scare-less, generic, anticlimactic last act. The House of the Devil was a slow burn, but the attention to detail and the main character charmed my pants off. It truly felt like it came from the 80s. But it'll be a while before I revisit it.

I was also a fan of Ty West's installment in V/H/S, but it seems I'm alone there. I thought the acting and dialogue was incredibly realistic and the story was very basic and minimalist, but chilling.

I saw Rob Zombie's Lords of Salem over the weekend and I absolutely hated it. I see some die-hard fans (and even the guys from Red Letter Media...who I normally agree with) praising the visuals and their "psychedelic" nature, but I found the visuals to be stale and forced. Zombie's a legitimately creative guy, but this felt like he was doing everything he could to scream, "Hey, look at me! I'm weird and crazy! Look at me! I don't care!"

It was just 100 minutes of bad movie making, but I will admit that it looked like it had more than a 2 million dollar budget. And I'm always happy to see Ken Foree on the screen.

The Evil Dead remake was disappointing in only one way. Not because it "tarnishes" an "impeccable masterpiece",(if you believe the dumbasses at the IMBD boards), but it represents a depressing trend in modern horror movie making. You see the problem really isn't remakes and sequels and bloody violence, produce ALL the remakes & torture porn you want I don't give a mother's fuck, it's the lack of any kind of real storytelling. Isn't that what movies are all about? Storytelling? And using different genres to tell stories? The story doesn't have to mean anything significant. Just tell a good story and tell it well.

In the last few nights I watched The Ward and Greystone Park. The Ward was surprisingly good, and it's the first time I've seen Amber Heard in a movie and she was great! As for Greystone Park, it's possibly one of the worst movies I have ever seen.

I know people who for real think that The Beyond is the greatest movie ever made. I´m not one of them (everybody with any kind of taste knows that Suspiria is the greatest movie ever), but it´s pretty damn awesome.

Lately most of them suck the big one. The House At The End Of The Street was decent.

For me.... every Halloween movie except for (Halloween...Season Of The Witch) were exellent. The music itself is classic.

Black Christmas, When A Stranger Calls and the sequel to that and of course The Exorcist............i like to be scared watching these flicks. Witchcraft movies were cool.

Guess it depends on what your taste of horror is. I miss those drive-ins though !

Excuse me gentleman, I just have a question. I'm looking for a horror movie but the only thing I remember is a scene with a white young girl and a black young guy fucking by a tree.

Part of the scene, I believe she's wearing a green top, pulls down her white bottom at the beginning of the scene and at the end, he has her from behind standing up against the tree. I'd appreciate the help!

John Dies at the End. Definitely more black comedy than horror, but at times it's pretty horrific. I thought it was going to be dumb, but it turned out to be well written and clever. If you enjoyed Cabin in the Woods or Tucker and Dale vs Evil, you'll probably enjoy this.

Absentia. It's a low(er) budget horror/thriller that suffers from some minor shakycam early on, but it works itself out before it gets annoying. Some of the dialog is a little off and the acting is a bit amateurish at times, but it's a really interesting concept and, overall, really well done. Especially considering the budget.

Seven years after a husband disappears and he's finally declared dead, things get very strange.

Both are on Netflix Instant (for any Yanks with Netflix) and both are worth a watch.
