Horror Movies that are actually frightening and don't suck

Scream bothered me, but I didn't know anything about it before I was dragged to see it. As far as I knew it was supposed to be a comedy, and in hindsight it really is, but sitting in the theater I was like wtf is this shit?
The first Scream wasn't bad, but to me overrated I'll much more rather like Scary Movie and that one is a comedy.

The Haunting (the movie received mostly negative critics, I don't know why to me is really a good one!)

For the ones who wondering who's play Pinhead, it's Angel Wicky!

They made some cool hardcore horror scenes including Hellraiser, The Exorcist, Evil Dead, A Nightmare On Elm Street, The Nun etc.

Tomorrow I will bring back my favorite all time film, most people will consider it like horror even if I don't, that's why I didn't bring it before.
And then a few special mention, and I think it will be all from my contribution, until new films will be made.

A vampire TV mini-series with David Soul, James Mason, Bonnie Bedelia, Lance Kerwin, Geoffrey Lewis and Fred Willard ...

... Stephen King's novel was also very good.

Loved the Underworld flms with Kate Beckinsale. 👍 Vampire vs. Werewolf. Or as the films refer to them; they call them Lycans.

Here you go. Kevin McCarthy - Piranha (1978)

And Lance Hendrickson - Piranha II (1982) which was James Cameron's directorial debut.

Guys it's summer, this year is very particular we have to be careful any time, so if we can't watching beautiful babe at the beach in real life...
We can watch them in security on our TV and in bonus seeing them got eaten!

Piranha (2010)

And quite frankly you won't see a woman that hot as Kelly Brook in real life! + in bonus a famous pornstar made an appearance in the movie, I won't tell you the name but it's start by a G. You have to watch it to figure out who I'm talking about. :)

This weekend selection has been for the fun, tomorrow serious things will be back.👹

Yes Kelly Brock was amazing in that. (y) As for your mysterious actress, with a starting "G" as her first name.

This lady:

I kind of remember Ashlynn Brooke in there too. Did she go uncredited?

To be honest I didn't noticed that it was Ashlynn Brooke in the movie, "I'm not that familiar with her" But apparently you are right! (y)

Didn't know that James Cameron directed the old one, I think I have seen one of the old Piranha, but a long time ago on TV, I don't remember how it was.
I should check them on amazon, I guess I can find them with a low price right now.

Special mentions

I'm not considering shark movies as horror film, "maybe because I don't live close to the sea"? that's why I put him to the special mentions, but I love this movie.

House at the End of the Street "a bit soft for an horror film, but the story is good"

Silent Hill (2006) "though I'm really disappointed with it, the story is cool, the movie is pretty weird the good way BUT, the end make you think that it will be a sequel and it can't end like this, and unfortunately the sequel never appeared... GUTTED!"

Blair Witch (2016) far better than the old one still a low budget self made look like but the story is better and the sound is great especially if you have a home cinema , I didn't liked the first movie at all, this one is better and I love how the house look at the end of the movie.

Another low budget film, but pretty cool, no crazy special effect but it's a very psychologic film. Paranormal Activity (I didn't seen the others, so I can't tell if they are good or no? But to me is a movie to see once no need to make sequels of it)

I didn't know that they remade it already. I was one of the people that liked it after the first pass. A lot of its effectiveness had to do with the buildup to it. The producers and marketers had a "different" kind of horror film to market, wanting viewers to experience it and come away from it believing that it was based on true events, etc. They used unconventional (for the time) faux, documentary-style web marketing, similar to what the TV show Lost did, later. Tantalizing clues, more questions than answers, etc.
