I also saw this movie as a kid, too.
Holy. Shit. Balls.
Way to totally mess up a kid!!!
I was scared of the dark for YEARS!!!
Even today this movie is pretty fucked up.

trivia: the song "Maniac" used in the movie Flashdance was up to win the Oscar for 'Best Original Song' but got disqualified because it was originally written for this movie!

Ginger Snaps (2000). Come across this film by accident (it followed on from something else I was watching and I couldn't be bothered to change the channel) but was soon hooked after the first few mins, a real dark, gritty and depressing movie and quite unlike anything I've seen. A real brave attempt by the producers not to glam it up for Hollywood and as a result i've read it's become a cult classic like Donnie Darko. It may not have the greatest plot or substance and may have an undercurent theme drawing on female puberty but I certainly found it an interesting watch. I'd recommend this to anyone who likes morbid dark alternative films, although watching it for Katharine Isabelle alone is also a good enough reason. :drool2:

"Ginger Snaps" is a great movie. :)

The best horror movie, at this point, is probably still "The Evil Dead". "Evil Dead 2" is equally awesome, but in a different way.

Older horror movies like "The Other" are creepy, but Sam Raime knocked the ball out of the park with Evil Dead.

I wouldn't classify Evil Dead as a horror as much as I would a good time! :1orglaugh

The third story is what scared you I'm guessing. I was 11 when I saw it. I thought it was funny.

I can understand that. The only movie that scared me was The Wizard of Oz (As a kid I was thinking too much).

The FIRST Hellraiser was pretty good.

The Jackson remake, The Wiz, was much more creepy.

One part was when the flying monkeys ripped apart the scarecrow and he was still talking and moving his arms. I thought he should be dead. The other thing is most movies were 2 hours long. At the point is when Dorothy is looking in the crystal ball. Auntie Em turns into the witch and the hourglass runs out of time. At that point I figured Dorothy was done and didn't want to see that. :)

 The best!! Well that's got to be William Friedkin's The Exorcist based on William Peter Blatty's novel.

Do you know what she did? ....
