I actually agree with smokin ....I want AJ McCarreon wins the Heisman!
On another note ... My poor, sheltered, lovely bride has never been to see a game at the Horseshoe, so ill be taking her to her first one next weekend against the Hoosiers.

No offense to either of you but I suggest that you both simply move on as you previously indicated you would do. It's not a lot of fun watching the two of you engage in an endless war over this issue since smoknn refuses to acknowledge the actual meaning and purpose of the Heisman award. In his world, there's Alabama and no one else (well, maybe Clemson for some bizarre reason. Maybe he's privately scared shitless of FSU??? Just sayin'....:dunno

Let me offer this up to change the subject....
Missouri has a tough schedule coming off a well-deserved bye next week. They have James Franklin coming back from his shoulder injury and Dorial Green-Beckham seems to finally be living up to his promise when they recruited him. He might be emerging as the best WR in the NCAA and he and Ladanian Washington might present the toughest secondary matchup for any opponent in the nation. Their defense, led by Sam, Ealy and Wilson, is awesome and is capable of shutting down anyone's offense as they have already proved against Georgia, Florida and South Carolina (yeah, I know they lost that game but it was the kicker's fault, not the defense's). Not saying they will but this Tiger team is lying in the weeds and has the potential to win out (tough games at Ole Miss and back home against Johnny Fucking Football so it won't be easy). If they win out, make the SEC championship game and somehow win it....where does that leave them in the NC mix?? Can you see a 1-loss SEC champion being denied the chance to play for the title? That hasn't been the history of the BCS so....
Before anyone decides to rip my face off for even suggesting this possibility, please understand that I am deliberately speculating and making some serious assumptions. I realize it is a stretch but anyone who thinks it is impossible is just simply not paying attention. Except for their hiccup against the Cocks, this team has largely been dominant on both sides of the ball in every game when, before the season started, no one gave them any chance at all. Regardless of the eventual outcome, Missouri has to be one of the biggest surprises in the NCAA this year. Oh....and for those of you who think that the SEC is in a league of their own, realize that the Mizzou roster is almost totally stocked with players who were recruited when the the school was still a member of the Big 12. :eek:

Funny how two former Big-12 teams are having so much success in the "grueling" SEC. I think they're proving how top-heavy this conference has been.
I'm going to be the biggest Mizzou and Auburn fan for the next few weeks. I think they're my only chance for my Buckeyes to get in the title game.
I will say this, Johnny Manziel came along at the right time. Without him, the Aggies would probably have 4 or 5 losses instead of just 2.
As for Missouri, Florida is in a desperate slump, Georgia lost a lot from last year, and more this year from injuries. Add in that LSU, Alabama and Auburn are not on Mizzou's schedule, and they came out with a bit of a cake-walk. One problem looms though. The Aggies on November 30.
Honestly, I think the divsions have gone off the rails a bit and some sort of of realignment should be considered. The Bama administration pitched a ****-fit a few years back when Mike Slive dared to suggest moving Auburn over to the East, so moving LSU over there and sending Vandy or Kentucky to the west would be a good compromise.

Mizzou's schedule has been favorable for sure. However, they've suffered through injuries as well so their signature win between the hedges in Athens kinda proved their legitimacy to me. Consider the fact that many prognosticators had them finishing ahead of Kentucky and no one else in the SEC East and their accomplishments have been pretty amazing by any measurement. A win over A & M would definitely be a watershed game for them but first they have to get by Ole Miss on the road so I'm sure that Pinkel has the team focused on the Rebs and not the Ags right now....at least I sure hope so.
I'm thinking they'll squeek by the rebs, but A&M slaps them silly, making for a mess in the SEC game.

Of course you could be right. I'm sure you're hoping for such an outcome as well so it makes perfect sense that you would predict it. On the other hand, A&M's defense is certainly less-than-stellar so I really don't see an "A&M slaps them silly" result being a likelihood, especially at Faurot Field. Missouri averages 41 points/game so I'm hoping that we can get a few key stops, ***** Manziel to throw a couple of picks and that our offense can put up enough points to outscore 'em. Our D will have to play their best but they have been very consistent all year so, to me, that's where we have a very exploitable advantage. Should be an awesome game....really looking forward to it. These two schools had some ******* battles in the Big 12 and I expect nothing less this time. Right now, though, Mississippi has to be the focus.
I would actually prefer Mizzou to win out and go to the title game.

Interesting. As a War Eagle, you must therefore fear the Cocks more than the Tigers, yes? If Auburn beats Bama on the same day that Mizzou hosts A&M, y'all will win the division on the tiebreaker (head-to-head being the first tiebreaker). Of course, you have to get past Georgia first. That won't be an easy task and should be a great game but Auburn has a distinct advantage against both the Dawgs and the Tide since the games are being played at Jordan-Hare stadium. Auburn doesn't get much love since they play in the West with Alabama but I give them at least a puncher's chance to win out and advance to the title game. How do you feel about that?

I want Mizzou to win because they have a better record, they're ranked higher. That's the only reason.
smoknn understands now and has from the start. anyone says they can pick who wins the HT every year is joking themselves. we ALL know what it is about. but what we all DONT know is who is going to win it. some here didnt think mark ingram could win it but he did. no one here is voting. bottom line...if your name is in the drawing...i have learned .....you have a chance. and if your not deserving your name is not going in the drawing to start with. all the **** i have caught here all of you best hope aj dont win. if he does some of you will be tired of smoknn . from what i have seen in recent years he has as good of a chance as anyone else i see this year.
My personal pick in 2009 was Case Keenum, but no one even considered him, because he came from a small school and his team committed the sin of losing 4 games.
Of the 5 guys chosen to go to New York in 2009, Mark Ingram deserved to be considered and of those 5, I felt he should win.
In 2011, Case Keenum had another stellar year and should have won. His team only lost 1 game, but again, the fact that he played for a small school doomed his chances. In 2011, another Bama player, Trent Richardson, finished third, which is where I felt he should finish. He too obviously deserved that trip to New York.
2013. No matter what anyone says, or how anyone votes, AJ McCarron does not deserve a trip to New York, let alone actually win it.
On to other Heisman news. Jameis Winston's chances may be doomed (watch the video below). Even if he is innocent, something like this could alienate voters in their support:

Braxton Miller is the best player in college football.... Early season injury cost him a chance to go to New York.
you may be right. like i said i think it is a joke because NO 2 players has the very same challenges. its like starting a race with everyone at a different starting point. as far as picking one i have found that i pick a different one than them almost every time. they have surprised me a few times. never forget the ty detmer year from byu. now that was a joke. a joke that cost my ass in the bowl game.
