Once the game is over next week, I'm wondering how long before everyone jumps on the bandwagon to expand beyond 4 teams.
IMO, the playoff had just enough controversy to get the ball rolling. If the BCS had still been in place, Bama & FSU would have played each other for the crystal ball.
Both, TCU and Baylor had a justifiable beef that they should have been invited, except Baylor's bowl loss kind'a mutes their point.
Anyhow, this off-season should be pretty interesting.

No, not me. I won't say never expand beyond four teams. I don't want The College Playoffs to turn into the silly NCAA basketball tournament.
When the college coaches were polled on how many playoff spots they wanted, the winning number was 8. Some voted for 16 spots, some wanted 32, and a small percentage actually voted for 64. Obviously, these are the idiots of the coaching ranks.
With 4 teams this year, you can say it was a success, because both the favorites lost, but with OSU jumping TCU and Baylor in the poll, this is enough controversy to justify an 8 team system.
I think it would have been interesting to see the next 4 in the mix; TCU, Baylor, Miss St and Mich St.

The number of teams you either have or don't have won't ever matter. There will always be controversy and complaining that a team got left out.
In some years, possibly, but this year, there would have been no controversy at all.
Teams #7 and #8 had 2 losses. Teams #9 and below had 3 or more losses.
