Interesting fact is in 1939, Oregon won the very first NCAA Basketball tournament, and they team they played in the final game was.... you guessed it... Ohio State.
Now on for some other thoughts...
- The excuse about turnovers in the Rose Bowl game is lame at best. Had FSU forced fumbles, you'd call it good D, when Oregon does it, it's because it was an underclassman. Um, go back and watch the film. Mr Winston pretty much handed the Ducks a touchdown on a silver platter... underclassman error? I don't think so. This is as lame as Winston claiming, "We beat ourselves." Beg to differ. When your opponent hangs 600 yards and 59 points on you, you got your ass kicked.
- The program that taunts and struts more than anyone else in the country is upset because some Oregon players chanted "No means no" to the Seminole war cry. Oh, you poor babies, go cry me a river. And while you're at it, remember, the team who walked off the field rather than congratulate an opponent who clearly whipped your ass has no room whatsoever to preach about sportsmanship.
- Everyone acted SO shocked that Oregon pulled away so quickly in the second half. Look at their game films from the whole season, fellas. It's what they do. They wear you down in the first half with tempo and speed, and then they go for your jugular. It didn't surprise me to see Winston and Jimbo Fisher arguing on the sidelines. It's part and parcel of what the Ducks do to you. You think you have it in hand, and you turn around and you're 20 points behind.
-Can we all agree the "experts" were dead wrong about the SEC? It's amazing that the format that was designed specifically to favor the SEC and if not them, the Florida recruiting pool sees a title game with no southern team and teams recruited largely from the Midwest and the West Coast.
and finally...
-If any coach can figure out a way to slow Oregon down, it's Urban Meyer. Count the Buckeyes out at your own peril.
