Federer just win easily, crushing Hanescu. Now he's aiming for Albert Montañés, who shouldn't be a problem for the Federer Express.

;)

I'd go with...Gisela Dulko

Good win and nice pokies today. :D Atrocious serves by Ivanovic, though.

Happy day for me: Azarenka, Peer, Hantuchova advance easily. :nanner:

I expect more good things to come. Safina (vs. Baltacha) and Kirilenko (vs. Vinci) should go through. I only have to worry about Nadia Petrova (the best ass on the tour). The match against Clijsters will be an uphill battle :(

my guess for the ladies quaterfinals:
Serena vs Dulko
Wozniacki vs Venus !
Henin vs Clijsters !
Bartoli vs Kilirenko

the matches in bold are gonna be awesome!

Saw bits of that match, don't think Federer broke sweat, barely out of second gear. Thought Djokovic looked poor and struggled at times. Will be surprised if he goes further than the Quarters this time round. Should be a Davydenko/Federer quarter final meeting on current form which will be pretty tasty and hard to call, esp. if Nicolay brings his A game from the baseline.

Oh and Ashton Kutcher looks nice for once.

I love watching Grand Slam Tennis! I love the Aussie Open! late night live tennis rules!

When it comes to watching woman's sports, Tennis is #1 and woman's volleyball #2.
Yes I do like the outfits and the looks of the ladies but I really like the competitiveness in those two sports when it comes to watching.

^
Women's soccer is the #1 women's sport to watch, imo. I think tennis is #2. I think it's time for Women to step it up and play 5 sets. I could see back in the "dainty" days of the 1950s that little women couldn't make it past 3 sets :)rolleyes: :sarcasm:) but, c'mon, women athletes of today are MACHINES OF THE GODS.

Frankly, women's matches of 5 sets might make the Williams sisters not auto-locks to appear in the Quarters of everything. Serena looks like she's packed on 30 more lbs of flab in her midsection and can barely hobble thru 3 sets  Maybe 5 sets might be a kick in the pants to Serena to get in shape!!

i disagree. I mean, he's struggling and all, but his draw is very easy: his only threats before semis are Youzhny and Tsonga. And IMO he beat both (maybe, just maybe, Tsonga would be close...).

"tasty" ?... funny! close! hard! intense! :thefinger

for once in a long time, the amazing grand-slam-semifinal streak is really in danger...

P.S Caroline Wozniacki is clearly the best looking female tennis player on the tour, even ahead of Ana Ivanovic imo. Anyone else agree?

She is a looker for sure, has a deep voice for such a lovely lady.

another hot one is Maria Kirilenko who just beat Sharapova.

He watched the wrong match. He could have met the king anytime. I would laugh if Safina lost this evening. If Azerenka ever sorted herself out against the main women here, she will be a big threat. She has the game for it.

First: Dinara will kick that fat Scottish ass. No doubt about that.

Second: She should give her dork of a coach the boot. He helped her lose extra weight but he's dragging her down psychologically. He has outstayed his welcome. Time to bye-bye!

Loved the Baghdatis - Ferrer was a great match. As was the Hewitt - Young contest, sets up a rematch that hopefully won't finish at 4am local time like their last Aussie Open encounter :D.

When Robson becomes successful (and she will), she is and always be english (namely british). Always remember that.

Oh i will, the media won't - if there's a connection (originally born here, they have distant or close relatives who live here, a player in a relationship.... etc) it will be mentioned and exploited for promotional purposes.

'Aussie' Kim Clijsters - with the Hewitt relationship, they broke up long ago.... but she's still 'Aussie' Kim to most people.

'Aussie' Ana Ivanovic - has an uncle + cousins who live here, thus she spends a lot of her down time in the country. Also is further heightened by her relationship with Adam Scott.

There was a bit of lunacy when it came to Andre Agassi some years ago, just because of Darren Cahill being his coach  :D.

Well as expected Safina was too good. Bally has had a tennis lesson today. Anyone think she can win the AO?
