Apparently you missed the fact that it was because I'm a Michigan State fan as the reason I think those helmets are so ugly. :hatsoff:

Back before MSU was in the Big 10/11, Michigan tried to keep them from joining the conference. Why? Because at the time the Spartans were a national power and Michigan did not want to play them every year. Yes that was 60 years ago and yes Biggie and Duffy are a long time gone. But Dantonio seems to be the guy that will bring them back into national discussions.

Hello Spartan fan!
Speaking of days of yore, I was at the 1966 Rose Bowl game :)
I was only six years old but remember it well.
My father and I thought we had kind of lousy seats down low in one end zone, but as it turns out we were front and center for the game saving tackle by Stiles (who knocked himself out in the process) on Apisa.
Final score UCLA 14 MSU 12 - a very tough loss for the top ranked and heavily favored Spartans.

there are my two cents. go lightly on the flames.

The last time Texas A&M mattered...Bob Davie was their Def Coord. :dunno: Maybe he could be hired at CU to be the Defensive Coordinator, and someone comes in from the Pros to run the Offense. Kind of like a 2-headed Coaching system...

And if we're being real...Bob Davie's domer recruits helped Ty Willingham find success at nd for his first 2 seasons. And TW's recruits helped Weis get his $25mil extension from nd after his first year there...

Yeah, I think GTech will tune up Clemson tonight. It could be a beatdown of the 45 - 14 variety....I will be  SHOCKED  if they don't win

If we believe the stat that says Year 2 of Rich Rodriguez and the Spread = Good Things....then I might be looking at Michigan for the win, seriously. I'm definitely rooting for them, but...I dunno yet :dunno:

Should we begin the Colorado Head Coach Short list? I'm not sure my guy, the Hawk, ex-Boise State Head Coach, is going to make it to the end of this season. Hawk has had time to get it going at CU Boulder and it hasn't worked out...losing to the instate rival at home...not good:(

Bob Davie?
Ty Willingham?
Tommy Tuberville?
Chip Kelly (fleeing Oregon:D)? (that's for you Bodster;))
John Gruden?
Mike Stoops (fleeing Arizona)?

You sure are trying to find work for John Gruden this year, T-rock! :1orglaugh

Tech sat back and nearly lost tonight. They play that way against Miami and they'll get killed.

Taking an educated guess, who do you think will be the next coach of your team. For me, I will guess Luke Fickell. He is a Columbus native and the current Co-defensive coordinator/linebackers coach for Ohio State who played nose guard for the Buckeyes for 4 years and was on the ’97 Rose Bowl winning team.

It won't be for years though.

i'd be leery of the 2 head coaching system. i would bet it turns into a pissing contest. but maybe it would be great. :dunno:

davie and willingham got a few lucky recruits because of the strength of the institutions football legacy. i can guarantee you neither would have been able to recruit someone like brady quinn if they were at, say, pitsburgh. the school got those recruits, not the coaches.

and i think charlie weis has had incredible recruits. now if he could only figure out what to do with them!

Can't believe we're 2 games into the season already after this weekend.

College football seems to take the longest time to get here then it seems like the season is over the quickest.

Central Ohio Local News Headline: USC Team arrives at Dublin’s Marriot. Film at 6.

(Dublin is a suburb of Columbus)

Peering into my crystal ball I see a 3:30 am, Sept. 12 fire alarm in the Dublin Marriot's future....

I remember the story from back in the day when your team was in Columbus and the fire alarm did go off. Bo was convinced that Woody was behind it so every other November it was a big secret where the Wolverines were staying.

They say that back in the day Haden Frye had the opposing locker rooms in Iowa’s Kinnick Stadium painted pink to make the visiting team more passive.

What's everyone think about Michigan vs Notre Dame? Who do you think needs to win this one more?

I'll be rooting for Michigan....but I don't really have a good feeling about them. We'll see though. I don't know if Big Boy Weis can coach to a win in a huge game....

I will be rooting for the Big 10, but I think Charlie needs it more. Rich-Rod still has another link on his leash from Michigan fans..

I always want Michigan to win out until November!

GO BUCKS!

Me too. In fact Jason282 and Hot Mega had me singing Hail to the Victors.................until I threw up.

Exactly my point.

didn't they do that recently too?

That was Kirk Ferentz. Incidentally Ferentz would have likely been offered to replace Carr had a deal with RR not happened. Ferentz is a native son of Michigan and a personal friend and favorite of UM President Mary Sue Coleman. She was President of Iowa when they hired Ferentz.

Understandable Baill...after all, The Victors IS the greatest college fight song ever....:hatsoff:

I think we'll be hearing the band strike it up quite a bit this season.....

Behold, the full version....
