by Wz Nick Paglino
Jan 28, 2009

"It was announced at last night's Smackdown tapings that Jeff Hardy WILL indeed be participating in the Elimination Chamber match at No Way Out in February. Vickie Guerrero made the announcement to the live crowd and a graphic of Hardy as a chamber participant was shown. So far, Edge, Jeff Hardy, Triple H, Big Show and The Undertaker have qualified for the match."

AP Report Says Mickey Rourke Will NOT Appear at Wrestlemania
by Wz Nick Paglino
Jan 28, 2009

The Associated Press has issued the following press release concerning Mickey Rourke's rumored Wrestlemania appearance. We reported earlier that Reuters.com has said the deal between WWE and Rourke has gone from a lock to now in the air, and this AP story is now making the situation appear as if Rourke has re-considered the appearance. In my opinion, his change of heart may have come at the hands of Hollywood agents advising him to stay out of the ring as mainstream acting and pro wrestling have never been a good mix. It's being reported that his chances of winning an Oscar may be reduced should he decide to enter the ring at Wrestlemania. The mainstream acting world has always had a poor taste in its mouth where pro wrestling is concerned. Nevertheless, here is the AP release:

Mickey Rourke won't rumble with WWE superstar

HOUSTON (AP) — A spokeswoman for actor Mickey Rourke says he won't be taking his role as a professional wrestler into a real-life ring after all.

Paula Woods told The Associated Press on Wednesday night that Rourke will not wrestle WWE superstar Chris Jericho at Wrestlemania 25 in April at Houston's Reliant Stadium.

Woods wrote in an e-mail that the Oscar-nominated actor "will not be participating in Wrestlemania. He is focusing entirely on his acting career."

Rourke portrays professional wrestler Randy the Ram in the acclaimed movie "The Wrestler." He made a surprise announcement about the wrestling event Sunday night on the red carpet before the Screen Actors Guild Awards in Los Angeles.

Rourke had said he was going to toss Jericho "around the ring like tossed salad."

he basically said, he didnt wanna carry jeff's dead weight anymore...and hated that people would only ask about jeff and not him...staying up late and bailing jeff out every damn time...he was sick of it...he go on to say they were no longer partners or brothers...basically matt was jealous...and he said how for 10 years he was trying to please the fans but they never cared...he did cut this promo down to a "t"...you could say...jeff wasnt there...
