Any specialities you'd like to share? What's your favourite item to grill, and do you use a marinade?

I don't think I have a favorite, it depends on my appetite. I like hot dogs, burgers, steak, chicken, corn on the cob, potatoes. I don't always use a marinade, just when I have time, otherwise I just slater it with some seasonings and/or bbq sauce.

Not knowingly, anyway.
Actually, they are remarkably healthy eating - less fat than beef.

I was on my way to a restaurant meal on the outskirts of Tokyo and my mate had a call from his friend (whose wife's restaurant it was) and he turned to me and said "do we want the raw horse?" I said no, not really. The chap ordered some anyway because he wanted it, and the portion was far too big for one so we ended up sharing it anyway. It was alright actually, but then again I think I'd find anything palatable with wasabi.

Back from vacation! Had a great time in Chincoteague last week feeding the wild ponies apples, grilling every night on the porch, and had a camp fire on the beach.

Cool. :)

Were you aware that the taboo of eating horse meat in Western culture stems from the Catholic Church? A few Popes, starting with Gregory III in 730ish A.D., outlawed the consumption of it to combat "paganism" since eating horse flesh was part of worshiping some deities in both the Roman and Norse religions (Epona and Odin primarily).

I have a feeling you probably knew this, since religion is more or less your thing, but still... an interesting thing to note. :dunno:

I don't doubt that horses are healthy eating, I'm just opposed to eating them for moral reasons. I don't like to eat animals that are cute, so no horses, veal, lamb, bunnies, things like that.

bunnies are yummy. it might be the cuteness that makes them taste so good

Can you put up any vacation pics showing the lovely views?

That would be cool to see. :)

Despite having consumed a pretty wide range of the animal kingdom (wider than most I'd wager) I've actually never had rabbit.

I've never seen it on any menus, no one I know eats it, and I'm (sadly) a lousy cook (I would like to learn to at some point) so my options are limited. :dunno:

ive had several places, if i could remember where id tell you. id imagine either nicer places or more woodsy ones

Well, there aren't a lot of woodsy places in my neck of the, uh, woods. And I've never seen it at any of the nicer places where I've eaten (though they've mostly all been Italian, and I guess rabbit isn't big in Italy...?).

I didn't know this before. You learn something new every day.
I'd say religion is less my thing rather than more.

Awesome new pics, Miss Harley. You are, as is said round my way, fit as.

From the file marked "predictable" and "a pattern is emerging" I think this is my favourite :

Huh. You've said a few things in regards to it that struck me as a rather astute, so I just assumed. :dunno:

I don't think many places serve rabbit as part of their menu, least not that I've ever seen. The only reason I've had it is because my stepdad used to shoot them once in a while and we'd have them for dinner, along with squirrels. Not my cup of tea.

Squirrels... but... but... who would ever want to hurt a poor little squirrel!? :(
