AS a Buckeye fan I have no bitch about them dropping. Its simple: Win Saturday and all is well in the polls. (Not poles or pools)

Any USC fans heard of rope a dope?

What???

Auburn just got past S. Miss. Alabama did not play well against bottom feeder Tulane.

I agree it was not at all a fine game by the Bucks, but they did win by 12.

I watched all three of those games Saturday... the difference was that USM and TU were never really a threat to beat AU or Bama respectively. The OSU game was very much in doubt until late in the game.

All of that said, they still won and it's a W, that's all that counts. All of these teams will have their shots at better opponents soon, and remember that early polls are not worth the paper they are written on, especially after 2 games!

They might not have heard of a rope-a-dope, but they've definitely heard of a we're-killing-Ohio-State-because-they're-overrated-dope.

The whole Big10 is in a slump. It happens. It's happened in the past to the Pac10, the Big12, the SEC and so on. It'll change with time.

Thoughts on this weekend's games:

- USC is the clear #1 IMO, tons of talent and should run the table unless they slip up.
- OU's offense looks really good, they should hop UGA to #2.
- UGA is a solid team, good defense, but not really clicking yet. #3 looks about right.
- AU's new offense looked bad. Really bad. But they beat MSU 3-2, and a W is all that counts. Defense really good, but didn't look like a top 10 team.
- Tulane played ECU down to the wire after playing Bama pretty tough last weekend. They should go to a bowl this year looking at their remaining schedule, 8 wins possible.

It's good to see Ohio St. pretty much out of the title game picture so early in the season. USC is clearly a pretty good football team.

Auburn's offense looked horrible but a win is a win I guess. They definitely didn't look like a top 10 team. Give a lot of credit to what their defense has been able to do so far this season. That game was truly a defensive coordinators dream game last night.

New polls ...

USC absolutely should be #1, but the rest of the Pac Ten took it on the chin yesterday. So much for them battling the SEC for "best conference" this season. :nono:

How is Ohio State still ranked so high? They barely scraped by Ohio University (who fucking sucks) and they got fucking stomped on by USC. They don't deserve to be ranked #13-14 at all.

Politics...they even ruin football.

I'm tired of all the Ohio State fans saying crap like, "Beanie Wells didn't play, that would've made a difference, blah, blah, blah..."

If ONE player sitting out honestly makes you lose a game...your team sucks and you have no business stepping on the field.

Agreed. OSU is THE argument for a playoff... they slide through the relatively easy Big 10 schedule and get waxed when they play USC or anyone from the SEC. I'm so sick of hearing about them and Beanie!

I read a great quote today on one of the sports sites online... "Ohio State got beat Saturday like they had done something wrong..."

And they stayed #9 in the Coaches Poll. Not that polls mean much this early, but wow... the Spread Eagle offense is laying eggs!

Yea the Tony Franklin offense makes the spread look awful.. Nothing compared to the spread that Urban runs here at florida. Terrible how people think all spreads are the same. Dont even put the spread that we run in the same league that they try to run at Auburn. That's not the spread that murdered OSU in the championship game in 2006.

Another funny quote I read today where the guy called the PAC 10 "USC and the 9 dwarfs"

Somebody would have to be pretty delusional if they thought he would have made up over 30 points of difference in the game by being in there.

Well being a OSU fan, they got stomped.... No question, Wells or not. They have 2 very good receivers that could not be thrown the ball and there 2 future NFL corners got burned often...

USC outplayed them! The got ripped on 1 TD call, twice.... That is end of story! 35-10 is still a beating...

The Bucks deserve a middle level bowl game, if they win out, not the National Championship shot.

People need to lay off the Bucks a bit. They are a good team this year, not at all great. Every College team, except a few would love to live at the level they have been at the past 8 years.

GO BUCKS!

They've been sucking up major bowl games for the past few years and IMO, they don't deserve it. Yes, they've had good teams put together in the past but Ohio State survives on hype and hype alone. They were "the team to beat" last year but when they played a real opponent in LSU they got their asses handed to them in a girly purse.

OSU plays teams like Akron, Bowling Green, Ohio and Toledo for most of their games all year. Yet, they get treated like they're gods just because they're beating shitty teams. That's like putting the Dallas Cowboys up against a high school football team and claiming that they're sweet just because they're getting victories. I don't get it. I don't get the politics involved, I don't get the whole ranking system, I don't get anything about it...and that is exactly why I hate college football.

FYI - There are other teams that get treated like this too, not just OSU.
