The NFL in the U.K?

How popular is the NFL in the U.K? From what I've heard the games that have been held there the past few years have been a success and there is talk of playing more regular season games in London and also the commissioner has talked of maybe having a franchise in the U.K. someday. Do any of you Brits follow the NFL?

No. We've never liked Baseball and never will.

The Brits already have a boring game for fat dudes. It's called darts.

At least Darts have the great Sid Waddell. All we get is a bunch of boring stiffs that go on and on with sappy feel good stories and other crap about how the "game is a metaphor for life". Bla Bla Bla.

Yeah, Co Stompe, Simon Whitlock, Jelle Klaasen etc are SO fat.

I did see a few people on the tube dressed up in all that silly NFL paraphernalia, trying to drum up interest in one of those little games a few months back. It has a small following.

I remember in the early 80s as a kid it was shown on Ch4 over here & there was a temporary craze for collecting small effigies of American Football helmets. Then we watched a game from beginning to end. . the fad soon passed.

Yea they like football there but its definaltey not as pop as soccer my team has played over in london before

Funny fact of the day: They are trying it right now. The Bills play a game in Toronto every year. They are under the impression that Canadians really want to be like Americans and will pay for tickets that are hundred, two hundred dollars.

Oddly enough, they had to reduce the price of the tickets and give a bunch away for free because so little were sold that it would have been embarassing.

The fact we have our own Football league we follow doesn't seem to matter to them either.

if they would have more games in london i would fly from germany to see them play. to bad that in basketball you just send the nets to london and for such few games:( would love to see more american sports over here in europe. we just have soccer. thats it. and it sucks

by the way i would come for NFL and NBA games. think that wasnt clear enough

I guess they thought that it didn't count because it was in Toronto and it isn't really part of Canada, but whatever. Compared to our game, the only thing the NFL has that's superior are the stadiums (though that is a really big advantage...).
