To argue the definition of whore and debate its proper use in context is one thing, to call someone it, whether they be OCSM or not, is another.
The definition of a whore is selling your body for sex. This is the very thing that these women do, and as such it is a perfectly good term to use.

I agree there are double standards here. Many idolize these women and yet can't get enough of them publicly degrading themselves. And people often pick on the most trivial things; like you calling XXX actresses 'whores'. They are whores. Look it up. Whore means 'a woman who engages in sexual acts for money'. This is exactly what they do.
However, anyone that sexually enjoys viewing images of women being 'abused' has a sexual problem. And one that doesn't realize the latter has an emotional problem as well.
I can see where u are coming from with a possible sexual problem. However i dont see that this is true of me as my enjoyment of this sort of porn has no impact on my life whatsoever. I have a girlfriend and would never treat her like a whore- she isnt one.

If you really enjoy watching that kind of stuff then you are kind of sick. It doesn't matter whether you practise it or not, you're finding pleasure from someone elses pain and humiliation... Thats sick!
And whore is an offensive word. Even when used 'correctly', the only reason to actually say the word is to offend, so you shouldn't. Just because its in the dictionary doesn't mean its not an offensive word. Whatever the situation you're in, there is always a nicer way to describe someone than 'a whore'.
And might I add that there is nothing wrong with someone having an active sex life with as many partners as they like. Its totally a personal choice and you shouldn't look down on anyone because of something harmless that they chose to do with their own life.

I agree with most of your post Joanne. And to use any word to deliberately hurt is wrong. But there is nothing wrong with using a word if no harm is intended. There are MANY words that offend some people and not others. 'Whore' is a proper word in the English language. It is a noun from the 12'th century. I never use it myself. But I reserve the right to whenever I wish.

As I have freely admitted, i do get 'sexual pleasure' as u put it from seeing whores being degraded in various ways and i see no problem with this- a view shared by some of the members of this site. It is merely your opinion that what i enjoy watching is wrong, there is nothing illegal in it, you just believe it to be morally wrong, which i cant understand- due to the fact that the whores consent.

I know that its a proper word LBP but I just think theres never a need to use it, because it can never really be said in a nice way. Whenever someone says it its always used in a degrading way. I just think it really isn't nice and its better just left unsaid.

Its not just my opinion, its the opinion of the majority of people. Could you publically express your love for it to everyone in real life and expect people to not think its despicable?

The use of the word whore has a negative connotation, despite it's "dictionary" meaning, which you previously sited. Do not continue using it in the manner in which you are doing.
You do not need to try and justify your using it because any arguments you have don't matter. It's offensive, at least in your communications, and it will not be tolerated.

Prostitute has one main meaning: sexual activity for payment. And one secondary one : it could be used also to talk about unworthy or corrupt action to gain something. It has no other meanings.
Whore has more than one meaning: 1. Prostitute 2. Immoral woman (whatever immorality it is). 3. Offensive word to qualify a woman who has many different sexual partners (not necessarily at the same time). 4. Generally speaking, a dishonest person.
All these definitions are used frequently and can be considered on the same level of importance (no main meaning but many meanings) and are part of everybody's vocabulary. Also, because 3 of these 4 meanings imply a moral judgment on the person, the word whore does not mean simply prostitute and just that.
So, if someone wants to make clear that he talks about women being paid for sexual activity (and no other meaning than that) the word prostitute should be the one to use.
