Should there just be a "Mass shooting in the US" sticky thread?

This is your guy right here. Three dead so far.

Police: 1 Person dead, 3 injured: Scene is secured: Shooting at Cielo Vista Mall food court; subject still outstanding

You ever wonder what is in the mind of these mass shooters on the eve of the most important day of their lives? What kind of delusions of grandeur do they have? How do they expect things will turn out? What will the scoreboard end up looking like? What is the exit strategy? When you only end up killing one person it seems like such a disappointment and now your life is over. Was it worth it?

Cowardly ambush assholes that (I believe is often the case) don't see any value to or worth in their lives, would maybe off themselves from the despair of being but they don't have the guts, or they don't want to go out quietly, resigned - jagoffs that spray their angst and existential bs in lead at innocent people that did them no harm and would likely want to help if they only knew. Just like that black dude that shot a bunch of folks in MI, and ultimately did off himself. It's a mental health/2A friction point, and being just plumb nutty about firearms myself, I can concede that something that protects individual rights while better guaranteeing public safety has to be thunk up. And worked out. And in.

I don't think there's a single answer.
-Revenge killers. Figure they're screwed once they kill the person they target, so why not take out more?
-You have those who want to make a statement. The type that will leave a manifesto at home, thinking that people will see it after they are killed
-Then you have those who want to remain a mystery. The type that destroys their hard drive before the go on their last run.
-You have those who are imminently suicidal, and figure they want to take others out along the way. They include those who intentionally want to "die by police"

Heck, you don't even need a gun for that last one...

How dumb do you have to be to open-carry a rifle like that, and also not even try to conceal your identity?
And then to pussy out when the clerk brings out his own weapon?

Remember this?L
The fucker was lucky Fierro was a disciplined veteran who could keep his emotions in check & has a respect for the law.

"I kept whaling on [hitting] him. I'm a big dude and this guy was bigger," Mr Fierro said.
He told reporters that he urged a drag performer to kick the attacker in the head.
"One of the performers was walking by and I told her kick him," he said. "And she took her high heel and stuffed it in his face."

Looks like she was on to something

Well, first, look where they're from. Then notice the demographic they fall under. Then, take a look at how that, and a few other major cities with democratic leadership plea bargains down gun charges, violent criminal charges, and how light the sentences are for those types of crimes. Then add the gang factor in, and you have your answer.

The fact is, more young black men are in prison, or getting shot and killed, because more black men are committing the types of crimes that put them in that situation. Then when you think about how short the sentence the serve really is, for what they've done, what are they losing? A 17 year old kid robs a store, shoots the clerk, and they plead it down to manslaughter, or 2nd degree murder, and he's out in 10 or less, and still a young man, that has learned how to be a better criminal in prison. His loyalty to the gang afforded him certain luxuries in prison, like drugs and protection, so when he gets out, he's right back where he started. This is why I always say, you need to clean up a lot of screwed up policies and criminal activity, before you think about taking rights from those that tow the line everyday.

He should have hid the gun in a long opaque inflated balloon. He could go anywhere with the balloon and no one would notice the gun. If shit went down he could instantly pop the balloon and start blasting away. Problem solved and avoided.

Well, he's a thug, so he probably figures he can go anywhere he wants, anyway. He has zero respect for any body, or anything. Except for the gang members he's likely affiliated with. They also likely have no fear of the police, and in chicago, he's likely not going to get any real punishment, if he is arrested.

A box of roses or a violin case are also good for hiding a shotgun.
Or get a fake arm with a gun attached, and if shit goes down, rip off the fake skin and start blasting away.

Imagine the robot arm is a gun.

Not in the US nor a mass shooting, but this is just so sad & fucked up on so many levels:

Fallen Edmonton police officers were ambushed, shot multiple times by suspect, investigators say
https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/edmonton/edmonton-police-shooting-officers-1.6782702

Edmonton police say the two officers killed early Thursday were shot multiple times as soon as they arrived at the apartment suite where a woman had called for help with her 16-year-old son. Edmonton Police Service Deputy Chief Devin Laforce said Friday that there was no indication of violence when police responded to the call, and they didn't know there was a gun in the home.

Const. Travis Jordan, 35, and Const. Brett Ryan, 30, were both declared dead in hospital after being shot and killed in what Laforce called an "ambush" by the teen suspect.
"It has since been confirmed that neither officer discharged their firearm, and it is apparent that they had no opportunity to respond to the threat that faced them," Laforce said at a news conference.

Police said gunfire erupted before Jordan and Ryan entered the apartment suite, incapacitating them. The teen and his mother then reportedly struggled over the gun, and according to police, the boy shot his mother, then himself. The teen died, but Laforce said the mother remains in hospital in serious but stable condition.
