Jagger, Lehtara with a hat trick tonight.

Caught this game in the 3rd with 14 minutes left and seen the Sabre lone goal, then the Blues 3 goals see you.

Yeah man Lehtera has been a real strong addition to the Blues this year, both scoring and setting up plays. I really thought we were taking a big step back when Sobotka left us for the KHL but the big Finn has been awesome. Don't see many natural hat tricks anymore so that was cool. Kinda feel bad for Buffalo though. Man, they are really just a terrible team. I almost felt sorry for them when we scored 3 goals on a 5-minute power play in the 3rd. Just not enough mature talent there to be competitive.

Although the Blues were able to take care of Nashville last night 4-3 at Scottrade, I must say that I am super-impressed with the Predators and their new style of play. They backcheck like crazy, push the puck up-ice, have good team speed and great goaltending with Rinne. Also, this young kid Forsberg is a special talent....really has a quick shot. They will be heard from in the West before it's all said and done.

Ace Bandage

The one and only.
Hawks looked awful against Detroit last night. Three turnovers in your own zone leading to three goals. That's just sloppy. Coach Q deservedly sat Versteeg and Kane for extended periods after their mistakes. Chicago was just completely out classed in that game.

This is a team trending in the wrong direction.

The Blues continued their winning ways with an impressive 4-1 win over the Caps on Saturday night at Scottrade. The STL line scored twice again as Lehtera and Schwartz both got their 7th of the year and Brian Elliott stopped 23 of 24 shots to improve the Blues to 12-4-1 overall and giving them 10 wins in their last 11 games. Big game on the road on Tuesday night against the Bruins. Should be a good one.

Yeah, I'm a bit shocked at their slow start. Maybe a bit of complacency overtaking Chicago? Truth is, it's still way early in the season and you know the Hawks will be in the equation at the end so I would expect a resurgence at some point but, yeah, they looked real bad Friday night.

Hawks win 6-2 over the Stars. Spread the wealth with 6 different Hawks scoring. Kane line: Kane and Versteeg. Toews line - Toews and Saad. And the combo defenders Seabrook and Kieth both scored.

Now the dreaded circus road trip for two weeks. Week one hardest match should be in Vancouver.

Since I only post on this thread once a month or so, and since the Bs beat the Blues tonight, I will be preparing my 47-page diatribe and literal diarrhea stream about Jagger and his Blues. I am currently looking for my thesaurus.

I wondered if you'd show up at last. Nice win by the Bruins and a flat effort by the Blues. Not making excuses but when you play as sloppy as we did in our own (the cluster fuck between Elliott and Cole behind the Blues' net literally handed Bergeron the first goal) end against a team as good as Boston, you ain't winning. Plus Rask was a brick wall. We outshot y'all almost 2-1 and yet we got shutout. Need I say more? Hey....it happens. No time to worry...we get the Habs on their ice tomorrow night.

And I had Patrice Bergeron on the bench in fantasy as he scored yesterday. Patrice is not producing that much however.

Other C starting, Jonathon Toews, Nicklas Backstrom, and Brock Nelson.

Jagger I have your back up goalie Jake Allen starting.

I think I am just in a funk with sports right now. Just can't seem to get excited about the season right now. Headed to a minor league game Saturday night, maybe that will jump start me.

I could have scored the goal Bergeron was given. Ian Cole threw a blind pass in front of his own cage while Elliott was still in the trapezoid and Bergeron just flicked in into the empty net. It was the worst bonehead play of the year by the Blues. Allen is solid, doesn't give up many goals. Although he's only started 6 games, he's got 2 shutouts, his 1.67 GAA is second in the league and his .933 save % is 4th in the league. He'll be an all-star and #1 starter in a year or so.

In the league I'm in total points are averaged out by how many games played in a week so Allen once a week is helping me to a 4-2 record. Starting also is Ben Bishop and I have Roberto Luongo on the bench.

Starting him against the Habs should be a good move. After the defensive breakdowns against Boston, Hitch will have the backline towing the line tomorrow night.

The Tarasenk-show continues as Vladi wins 2 for us against Edmonton and Minnesota in OT. Big game in Chicago on Wednesday night on NBCSN. If you haven't seen him play, I highly suggest your tune in and check him out. He is simply amazing.

brodeur should probably retire now instead of starting somewhere new. i doubt it will go well

Well we'll see. There are numerous examples of old goalies coming back for last hurrahs that went pretty well. Glenn Hall, Jacques Plante....hell, Ed Belfour played at a high level when he was 42 and he isn't near the goalie that Brodeur is. The Blues won't likely ask him to shoulder the major load of games. Allen willl be the main man until Elliott comes back....unless Brodeur plays lights out....then what??. If so, what happens once Elliott returns. If Brodeur plays well, he could be some serious trade bait toward the end of the season. Maybe the Blues will keep him all through the playoffs. Just his presence on the roster....a 3 time Stanley Cup champion, 4 time Vezina Trophy winner, future HOFer....I mean, a living legend playing side by side with your regular Joes has got to have an impact. No....this is a bold move by Doug Armstrong. They want a champion on this team and Brodeur is the man. We'll see how he plays between the pipes very shortly....likely this weekend. It could backfire but the upside is tremendous. Stay tuned for this....will make for great drama no matter what.

Well I guess this thread is dying but until it's official I will keep posting. The Hawks schooled the Blues in Chitown last night. And for dessert, we get the magnificent Pekke Rinne and a rusty but pretty effective Martin Brodeur in Music City where we outshot the Preds by a significant margin but still managed to find a way to lose, 4-3. Not panicking....this is a rut in the road that happens to all teams so once we get Bouwmeester and Elliott back I"m sure we'll be in much better shape but right now it's pretty ugly. :crying:

i think the hawks could take it all this year. pitsburgh is already plagued with injuries. if only that team could stay healthy i dont think there is another team that could keep up with them
