That burgher will be my my desktop image this summer. Can't wait for the video.

Mariah, you've gotta start cooking rice! That make me laugh because of all of the great ingredients you find and use you don't do the rice thing. That breaks my heart, You have traveled enough to appreciate different rice. Take the next step and do it at home. Let me send you a rice cooker. 2 water to 1 any rice. Dump it in the pot with a cover. When it boils shut it off and wait. It is now done. Dump in your shaved almonds, garlic, or any dry seasonings at the beginning and you can't fuck it up.

And thanks for the tip on keeping cooked pasta in the house. Just cook the whole damned thing at once and freeze what you aren't going to use. It makes so much sense.

oh, rice is something sacred in my house. you don't fuck with rice. and yes, a rice cooker is always more than acceptable, but not necessary. i finally bought my girl one this last year for christmas. ive been making it on the stove my whole life.

i don't measure, my girl does. i use the filipino finger technique to measure mine, she uses a cup system like bob. except we turn to a boil, then cover it, but then we simmer (this is stove top) until its done. about 16-20 minutes or so, depends. the rice tells you when its done by not coming off the sides of the pot when tilted on its side.

Yea, stove top is not too complected but I just love dumping the shit in and pushing a button. Keep it warm till it's ready to go onto the plate. It's the appliance half way between the microwave and crock pot. Veggies when tossed in do rather well. The hard ones stay crisp and the softer stuff (mushrooms, chunk tomatoes. etc.) doesn't lose anything. Just add your spices and let the machine do the work.

I've been looking for a machine to do the work of a crock pot, rice cooker, and deep fryer all in one. There are several but the reviews are that they don't do all of these things good enough to my liking. Mostly that the deep fryer doesn't get hot enough for the proper cooking.

lol I have a rice maker actually. I am contracted to film one video for every day of the week, so with my travel schedule I usually film 4 videos one night and the other 3 the next. So time is an issue and if I can buy some nice sticky rice for $2 a quart to suit my purpose, then it makes everything so much easier.

Remember, after each video I have to wash the dishes and cutting board, put everything away and prep for the next one. Rice is time consuming and adds to the dishes when buying it is so much easier for what I'm doing.

make a little better sense now? :)

and Bob, that burger was AMAZING!

oh there is this machine called a "Ninja" which does slow cookers, fryer pasta maker all in 1 machine. i watched a video where this chick puts the raw spaghetti noodles, sauce and everything in at once and it cooks it lol supposedly the thing is amazing.

I found the video! here's the link to it on amazon http://amzn.com/B009T7H0QM

dont get it twisted! I would NEVER cook spaghetti like this lol but this thing is supposed to be awesome as a slow cooker. you can brown / sear your meat in it as well so no need to do that on the stove top prior to adding to the slow cooker which would be nice, one less pot to wash lol

Quite possibly one of the most disturbing video's I've ever seen. This guy needs to be hung, drawn & quartered for crimes against food.

but the rice that I get from the restaurant down the street is awesome. it's as good as any rice maker rice I've had. I prefer my rice plain so maybe that's where we differ on this?

in Curacao they use peanut sauce a lot...is that Dutch as well or just the islands?

Yep, we have a lot of Indonesian restaurants over here in the Netherlands because of our history with that country and the Indonesian people brought the peanut sauce with them.
It is especially popular to put it over our fries even in combination with mayonnaise and sometimes chopped raw unions, yummie!

I also made seared scallops over roquette (arugula) with a jalapeno vinaigrette dressing! this turned out so good! Im into making vinaigrette's that go with my meal. I also made a pecan watermelon salad with a watermelon vinaigrette. that was awesome as well!

Long ago someone introduced to me the peanut butter and raw onion sandwich. In all of the time since then I have never heard of a person who didn't think it was weird much less ever heard of it. You all may think it is weird too but give it a try.

Chips and mayo. Another thing that I've been doing since I was a kid was mayo or French onion dip is my mashed potatoes. People think this strange but what the fuck is in potato salad?

Ive had the peanut butter and raw onion sandwich and its not nearly as bad as it sounds!

When I was in Barcelona one of my favorite things to order on the Tapas menu was the potatoes with the garlic mayo to dip them in. that shit was delicious! I assume you mean chips as in fries right? like the British chips? I got to the point from all the back & forth to London I now call potato chips "Crisps" and fries "chips" people here get very annoyed by it lol

Ive heard of a packet of french onion soup mix in mashed potatoes but not french onion dip. that's not far off from putting sour cream n chives on a potato so not crazy sounding at all to me :)

Where I live is a huge area for scallops. when season opens late summer people go to these little towns like Homosassa Springs & Crystal River and on up north into Citrus county. they have huge scalloping parties where they camp out and fill up the hotels and spend all day scalloping and then have a giant beer n scallops cookout each night. I went for one day and it was a blast. nothing but asses sticking out of the water as everyone digs through the sand with their hands lol
