Sam, you are missing the point. As Harley points out, it is not that I think that bad things will not happen, I just feel that waving a *** about could cause worse things to happen. Even highly trained, you do not know how well your assailant can handle his firearm (if he has one), or what will happen to you if you shoot and **** (however right you may be) another human being.
Guns for sport is fine, and I'm sure can be great fun, but for protection I feel could cause a bad situation to become worse very quickly.
