Final Fantasy XIII

First couple hours may be boring and disappointg but game gets better later.

all RPGs start off slow and pick up steam as you progress. I've found that about 3/4 of the way through your having the most fun. You got some bad ass spells and weapons with lots of hit points and the boss battles are challenging.

I would assume the same formula from this game as well.

Picked it up and played for about 4 hours. Gorgeous game, very very linear so far. But as a ***** FF geek its all good. And holy crap are the characters lame and quite annoying.

Well I traded in some games that I don't play anymore and decided to get Final Fantasy XIII on PS3 today. Even picked up the last Collector's Edition strategy guide that Gamestop had. They're only making 1 printing of it and they're all numbered. Final Fantasy is the only series that I get strategy guides for.

What made you get the ps3 version over 360, just curious?

I have Final Fantasy VII - XII all on Playstation consoles. It doesn't feel right for me to play Final Fantasy on another console other than Sony.

This is like the same deal as the MetalGear series right? MetalGear Solid was the birth of the series on Playstation and the others were on Gameboy, correct?

Metal Gear and Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake were on the NES and Japan's MSX2. There was also Snake's Revenge but that was done without Kojima's involvement and he was then asked to do Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake as a true sequel to Metal Gear. I should actually say that Metal Gear 2 was not released in the United States but was Japan exclusive.

finally getting a chance to play this, it came from G'fly today....I gotta say that theres enough similarities to FF7 in there for me, so I think its gonna be an enjoyable game and re-entry for me into the series after only liking FF7.

Graphics are stunning too....

The first 6 weren't all originally released in America. Of the ones that were they were on the NES. 7 Marked the beginning sony exclusivity.

Final Fantasy 1 came out here on regular Nintendo. Final Fantasy 2 and 3 were not released here till much later. Final Fantasy 4 came out here as Final Fantasy 2 on the Super Nintendo. That was my first Final Fantasy game and what got me into the series. It was damn hard to find. Finally found it in a pawn shop one day.

Final Fantasy Mystic Quest came out here on the Super Nintendo but was not as good as the other games. They did not release Final Fantasy 5 here till later. Final Fantasy 6 came out as Final Fantasy 3 here on the Super Nintendo. Then Final Fantasy 7 came out on the Playstation and they started to number them like they do in Japan. They came out with Final Fantasy Anthlogy on Playstation rereleashing Final Fantasy 4 and for the first time in the U.S. Final Fantasy 5. Then they did Final Fantasy Chronicles rereleasing Final Fantasy 6 and Chrono Trigger which was released here before on the Super Nintendo.

Secret of Mana was released here too on the Super Nintendo. Final Fantasy games did not become popular till Final Fantasy 7 on the Playstation. I remember paying 70 dollars for Final Fantasy 3 which was Final Fantasy 6 in Japan. I bought it when it first came out and was afraid it would become hard to find like Final Fantasy 2 (Final Fantasy 4 Japan) was. I have been following the series for a long time.

Thinking of getting this. Anyone got it yet what is the battle system like? Seen trailer looked ****** hectic I hope it isnt too similiar to last remnant cause that game sucked balls.
