I would also like to know if you could eat them. A lot of primates besides humans eat the peel with the banana and are fine. Your not supposed to feed dogs chocolate because it adversely affects their nervous system because their bodies can't digest it and acts as a stimulant to them. I didn't think banana peels would do that to people. :dunno:

One they taste foul and two most importanly they're toxic and can make you sick.

I've always been told to never eat banana peels.

I don't wanna buck that trend cuz there must be a damn good reason for it!

Maybe it's not the peel itself but something like the pesticides they spray on it. Considering it's not supposed to be eaten maybe they aren't as careful with the toxicity of it as they are of pesticides on other foods.
