On April 21, Ontario pretty much lifted everything except for masking in certain areas - public transport (buses etc.) and medical clinics/hospitals. The federal gov't masking mandates for train and air transportation are still in place as far as I know. In practical terms, I did some observing at three grocery stores I went two in the past couple of days and estimated 10% or less of the people were maskless, the rest, including me, still wore masks. The 10% includes staff working at the stores. It will be interesting to see how quickly masks start to disappear as we get further away from the end of the mandate. Oh, and based on wastewater analysis, COVID is on the rise in all four of Canda's largest provinces (by population) including Ontario. So what are the COVID restrictions like in your areas? Or are there any?
My area pretty much has lifted everything, from vaccine passports to even masks. The free disinfectant is starting to disappear too.
The crazy thing is, the actual case counts are actually higher than they were at this point last year. Seems like a perfect storm for another wave.
Yup, was almost nothing compared to my first two shots (Pfizer then Moderna).Anybody had the Moderna booster? I got an appointment to get mine tomorrow. I wonder how I will feel after.
Isn't FiveThrityEight usually seen as pretty good when it comes to data analysis? That doesn't mean one should just blindly trust graphs or serveys because they can be manipulated by confirmation bias or downright lied about, but I thought they had a decent reputation. I think that has to be a composite from many sources over time as it would be hard to keep the same survey open over the span of 45 years.^^ Note the source of that chart as "SOURCE: GENERAL SOCIAL SURVEY"
I'm sure that's reliable.
Also, are we to take that republicans consistently had more trust in science than dems until 2000?
Wasn't the reason because many ballots in Florida were thrown into the ocean or disqualified because of stuck chads?*** ALSO - in 2000 is when Al Gore won the popular vote in the US Presidential Election, but George Bush won the electoral vote. In my opinion, THAT is when politics and general discord went to ****..
