Wife and I both got it. She a bit sicker than I but nothing worse than a bad cold for her and since had a shingles shot before seeing her results I had one bad evening and night(whether they were connected or not I can't tell). I had a very bad headache that went down my spine and also my shoulders as well as feeling as if I had a fever. All could have been Covid or a reaction to the shot as both have the same systems. I felt as good as I ever did by Monday morning and still just fine. Wife's Boss had had a couple of waves as my wife has had as well. I suspect we will be fine.

Looks like you guys are over the hump. Sounds good. Thanks for responding too.
Things I learned recently when I got my booster:
- Boosters can have the same side effects as your first two shots. At least for me, they were no better. Headaches, muscle pain, chills. Took me out for an entire day.
- Like everything in the pandemic, opinions are mixed, but a lot of evidence says you should not take medication for vaccine side effects, since that could affect antibody production. So you just have to ride it out if you want to get the full benefit of the booster
- If you get a Moderna booster, you may only get a "half-dose", unless you are immunocompromised/ >70yrs old. 100mg vs 50mg. I haven't found any clear/widely promoted evidence that getting a half-dose is just as good as a full dose.
- Oddly enough, there is no "half dose" for Pfizer - it's always 30mg, regardless if it's a booster or initial jab
- They were recommending boosters every 6 months, but with Omicron a thing, that could get shortened to 3 months

-The PM of Canada tested positive for COVID today. He was fully vaxxed and got a booster in early January.
-There's a anti-vaccine mandate trucker rally that arrived in Ottawa on the weekend and have brought the capital to a standstill.
-Some danced on the tomb of the unknown soldier/war memorial, and desecrated it (as in, turned it into a toilet)
-Some who were turned away from restaurants for not wearing masks (because why would they), then raided homeless shelters for food.
-Some "protesters" carried nazi & other hate signs
-and in a funny twist, when one of the speakers rhetorically asked if there were any white supremacists in the crowd, one guy proudly identified himself as one.
Yeah, good times in the True North. Looks like the "rally/protest" is continuing. Let's hope they don't get any ideas of having their own "January 6th" on February 6th.

Two of Trudeau's school-age kids tested positive, likely where he got exposed. FYI, Canada vax rates (2 doses) are at 78% for total population or 82% for those age 5+. 46% of age 18+ have a booster (source: https://health-infobase.canada.ca/covid-19/vaccination-coverage/ ).
90% of Canada's truckers are vaxxed, this rally was started by the other 10% who can't follow a logic diagram:
They want Canada to drop/delay the requirement that they show proof of vaccination when they re-enter Canada from the USA. However, in order to get into the USA, they have to show proof of vaccination, so what exactly are they fighting for? The right to be stupid I guess.
The "right to be stupid" is what attracted a whole bunch of other malcontents who want to protest pretty much anything so a "trucker's rally" turned into something bigger. I also find it funny they are protesting in front of the parliament buildings. They are currently empty as they are under a 10 year renovation - the government is meeting elsewhere in the meantime.

So the police have finally stopped pussyfooting. It's not full enforcement, but at least it's a start. They've had their fun, made their point. It's clear nothing more is coming out of this, so common sense would say they need to move on.

I doubt they will budge, and it will be interesting/scary to see what happens if police start to take more drastic measure to stop this. Especially since it's been shown that some of these people have firearms.

Still, simple math says that their records would have shown well over 75 jabs every single day (likely closer to 200) - that had to have raised some red flags.

I see that many governments have now lifted COVID restrictions/mandates, or planning to lift them soon despite omicron still being a thing. Apparently the logic is that boosters and masks aren't as effective against omicron, so instead of doubling down on restrictions or enforcing mandates that could work, or develop vaccines that are effective, the collective response is: "Meh, we tried"

I think governments and average folks are just tired of the whiners and general trouble makers and have come to the conclusion, Let them die if they want to.
I think you're right. They probably figured they don't want to erode their voter base any further.
At this point I guess I would be ok with lifting all mandates; all I would ask is that hospitals add a stupidity surcharge if you're admitted for COVID but unvaccinated.
