70's and 80's tv series' creater Glen A. Larson passes away

Glen A. Larson, creator of the 1978 Battlestar Galactica series, has died at the age of 77.
THR reports that Larson passed away Friday night of esophageal cancer at UCLA Medical Center in Santa Monica.

Along with Battlestar Galactica, Larson also created the pioneering TV hits Quincy M.E., Magnum, P.I., Knight Rider, The Fall Guy, and The Six Million Dollar Man.

With Deadline doing the math here, apparently Quincy, Magnum, Knight Rider and Fall Guy added up to 513 hours of television and 21 combined seasons from 1976 to 1988. Battlestar may have only lasted one season from 78 to 79, but it of course led to Ron Moore's brilliant 2004 reboot.

Larson also created the shows Buck Rogers in the 25th Century, Alias Smith & Jones, B.J. and The Bear, Switch, Manimal, and The Misadventures of Sheriff Lobo.

Knight Rider is my 3rd favorite show of all time. i've also started a campaign page on FB a year ago to get BJ and the Bear released on dvd.

Very sad. I enjoyed Quincy, ME and Magnum P.I. growing up. Rest in Peace Mr. Larson :angels:

Glen A Larson ( May he rest in peace)
a superb writer of material of the highest quality.
Fantastic talent
The television series he helped to create inspire great memories as they were always very entertaining.
The first "Battlestar Galactica" was an epic for its time while it aired and created an underlying current which eventually gave rise to Ronald D Moore's superb update.
Knight Rider marvellous I always wanted a car that could do everything that "Kitt" did-hhhaaa

I really liked Erin Gray as Col. Wilma. :drool2:

Interestingly enough, I sure thought that Markie Post had come out more on that series, but I just checked on imdb and apparently Markie Post only came out on 2 episodes. Wow! She must have really made an impact on me on those 2 episodes. :D She definitely made an impact on me later on on The Fall Guy as Terri Michaels in those White Jeans that she loved to wear. :rubbel:

Racing is life... anything else is just waiting.
Sad loss. Even his shows that were kind of campy were still MUCH better than 99% of the trash that's on TV today. Quincy and Magnum P.I. were also two of my favorites. Whenever I hear the theme song to Magnum on my iPod, it still brings a big smile to my face. But I guess that generation of TV is gone forever now.

R.I.P., Glen Larson. :hatsoff:
