The tv season 2009/2010

'Chuck' May Come Back Earlier Than March 2010
There's a good end coming out of "Southland" cancellation after all. Since the show will be out of the schedule on Fridays, there is a chance that another show will be bumped to complete NBC's line-up this season. One show which EW mentioned is the fan favorite "Chuck".

The comedy starring Zachary Levi and Yvonne Strahovski in fact had gone into production in August although NBC put it for March 2010 premiere. "We will be ready to come back whenever we're asked to come back," actor Vik Sahay said in June. At least four episodes have been completed and NBC insiders who have seen them said that this is the best season yet.

However, whether or not "Chuck" will come back to its Monday slot, it is yet to be found out. Nevertheless, EW said that should it perform well then NBC may increase the initial 13 episodes order.

After nearly canceled this midseason, there have been clearly some efforts from the team of "Chuck" to make the show worth watching. They have tapped two guest stars to appear in the third season, namely Brandon Routh and Kristin Kreuk. The former will be a new spy specializing in The Ring while the latter will be a new love interest for Chuck named Hannah.

Meanwhile, "Southland" which has not even aired a single episode of its second season, reportedly is being pitched to TNT.

I can't believe NBC cancelled Southland before even airing the first episode of the second season. Southland was definitely the best network cop drama so far. And they cancelled it, because it was deemed too dark. How pathetic is that? Earlier this year they cancelled Life, Medium and My Name Is Earl. Where they too dark, too? No wonder this network is in a downward spiral. I mean, they don't even manage to keep the ratings of 30Rock up, one of the most successful network shows of all time (5 Gold Globes and 14 Emmys!!).

I think they were just afraid to possibly lose the ratings war on fridays to a show they themselves cancelled earlier this year. (For the ones who don't know: ABC picked up Medium after NBC cancelled it. After that, NBC started badmouthing the show and ABC, but ABC made them eat their words because Medium is doing better on fridays now than it was doing on mondays and thursdays on NBC for the last two years).

Well, to quote a famous movie character: "Stupid is as stupid does." I really hope HBO or TNT pick up Southland, preferably HBO. After all the show is/was being produced by Warner.

What I'm enjoying the most at the moment are Dexter, Parks and Recreation, Castle, Sons Of Anarchy and The Good Wife.
I don't think I have to say much about Dexter. It's just a brilliant show, although the dark passenger seems less witty than in the previous seasons.
Parks and Recreation is just plain fun and the ideal series for what we call "fremdschämen" (something like vicarious embarrassment, to cringe by something someone else did or to be "embarassed by proxy" so to speak).
Castle is just easy going fun and drama. The characters play very well together and are all very likeable and Nathan Fillion is (as was said earlier) a very underrated actor. He makes watching his character and reacting to his stuff so easy that it makes you feel kinda bad for the other actors.
Sons Of Anarchy is a great show with explosive storylines, solid action and suspenseful character development. And a decent amount of violence. :D
And The Good Wife...yeah, that one surprised me, too, as I'm normally not a friend of law/lawyer/court shows. But this show is just so well shot, especially the pilot. The lighting and the camerawork are so good, they make the main character almost look pristine, which is a interesting concept for a show like this. Sets, make-up and wardrobe don't look random or cheap, the score fits perfectly, the actors play well together and the main actress Margulies makes her character very likeable, simpatico and easy to take to. There is no objective, rational reason to not like this show. Of course one can still not like it for subjective or personal reasons.

Ha ha ha, the third season of Californication has been hilarious so far, and the women are even hotter, especially Embeth Davidtz and Eva Amurri who has one of the best pair of boobs I have seen in a long time on TV.

Curb Your Enthusiasm hasn't lost anything of its swagger, and even Hank, the new Kelsey Grammer show, seems to have potential.

I am really digging Flash Forward. Anyone else like this show?

And is it me or does "V" actually look like it could be decent? Who is the main hottie on "V"?
Basically...this chick?

She is so hot it burns my eyes to look at her toooo long....:scream::rubbel:

I'm looking forward to "V" as well. I loved the mini series and the short lived weekly series.

Eva Amurri doing a stripper pole routine.

I need to catch up on Flash Forward but I'm loving it so far, it is filling the void until LOST returns. Heroes has been terrible for a few seasons now, I can't even watch a few minutes of it without being bored.

Curb your enthusiasm is brilliant as always. I <3 Larry David! I'm really looking forward to V, The Prisoner, and Caprica.

for those who need to catch up on shows do it soon HULU is going to start charging next year
they have flashfoward
the girl from V is morena baccerin from firefly she is smokin but i like her better with long hair

In case no one has heard, Lost is going to be split up like it was in Season 3 thanks to the Winter Olympics. They're going to air a couple episodes starting a January and then take a delay. First off, ABC isn't even doing the olympics at all this year and no one watches them in the first place! What the hell!?!?

I do have to say though, it hasn't been officially announced by ABC but things are looking like it will be split up

If you can find a large enough people like yourself, to show that this show has a large enough following, maybe DirecTV will pick it up for their channel "The 100." They've already done that for other show that NBC has canceled.

I do too.I didn't even recognize who she was with short hair.

The execs and ABC are just as clueless sometimes as the execs at FOX.The only real reason why they are splitting the season is because they are trying to milk it for as much as they can, being that this is the final season.

When Lost ends, there is going to be a huge ratings void left in it's place that,I'm sure,ABC is trying to fill.I think they were hoping that Flash Forward would end up being that show that would take Lost's place, but according to the ratings, they are losing viewers on a weekly basis.

FlashForward IS the perfect LOST fix. It started off like a firecracker, but the intensity tapered off a bit these last 2 weeks. "Charlie" from Lost (Domenic Moneghan) joins the show next week. The ads for the show show him pounding a hottie in mish:eek: I thought it was pretty realistic too...

I really don't think Joesph Fiennes and "Penny" from Lost (forgot her name) make a believable couple. They just have zero chemistry as a couple. It's a decent popcorn muncher show.

Castle is just easy going fun and drama. The characters play very well together and are all very likeable and Nathan Fillion is (as was said earlier:D:thumbsup:) a very underrated actor. I'm a "secret" (shhhhh) Castle fan. As you say it's easy and fun and well done. It ain't Shakespeare, but it's a good show. Tonight's ep was one of the best ever. Cool Halloween show. If you like vamps and vamp culture, check out this week's Castle.

Really funny episode. :D
Did you realize, that many of the Halloween costumes were references or hints to previous roles of the cast members?
For example:
Nathan Fillions Richard Castle was wearing a "Space Cowboy" outfit which looked strangely familiar ("Firefly"/"Serenity").
Jon Huertas character Esposito was wearing a marine costume. Huertas biggest role so far was that of a marine in "Generation Kill".
Seamus Devers character Ryan was dressed as a doctor (most likely surgeon because of the blood and all): Seamus Dever played doctors in "Army Wives" and "General Hospital".
I thought that was a nice little gag. And an almost great filmmaker's joke, when Castle first wears the "Space Cowboy" outfit and his daughter sees him: "Ok, a) there are no cowboys in space and b) didn't you wear that like five years ago?". :D

^
I caught Nathan Fillion's outfit as "firefly-ish," but I'm impressed you knew the other ones!

I don't know why but I'm attracted to the african-american Coroner on "Castle" --she's really hot! and could benefit from a nice pair of implants:spump::nanner:

Hell yeah Det. Beckett is hothothot....this past week they dropped the first "hint" that Beckett/Castle might be attracted to each other. They need to go slow with the flirting between them. We need to draw that waaaay out.

Southland has been picked up by TNT. Starting January 12, it will air the 7 episodes that NBC already had on and then the 6 new episodes that have already been filmed for this season.

V premieres Tuesday. I heard that it's getting pretty good reviews. Sucks that they're only going to air 4 for now.

I'd like to recommend the show Modern Family (Tuesdays on ABC). I tuned in to the show a few weeks ago to mainly check out Sofia Vergara but I thought the show was pretty damn funny. I think I heard it's also getting a strong critical response.

I watched the pilot ep of "V" and I gotta say....reluctantly...and bitterly...

We did not need to know half of the info they showed in the goddamn pilot. The tempo of the pilot was WAY OFF. My head was spinning with all the stuff they were flinging at us.

I had too many questions about too many glaring plot holes or glaring gaps in "tv logic."

I don't have high hopes for "V" making it even though "Anna" is easily the hottest babe on network television.  I think she is incapable of looking unattractive in any situation....I would seriously pop a stiffy if she scraped gum off her shoe...
