So how does both Ole Miss and Memphis losing effect Alabama? If Ole Miss wins out the SEC is left out of the playoffs as far as I can see. Florida won't make it even if they win out.

Ole Miss was in control of their own destiny. All they had to was win the rest of their SEC schedule, beat Florida for the title, and that would have shut the SEC out of the playoffs, but now, Alabama is in the driver seat. With a dominating win over a good LSU team, Alabama will get a playoff spot if they win out and beat Florida for the SEC crown. Florida could get a spot if they win out, but they'll need help out of the Big 12 if some teams take a loss here or there.

TCU is out. Even if they win the rest of their game by 90 or more, that 1 loss doomed their chances. The next 3 games in the Big 12 will be huge with Baylor, Okie, and Okie St.

Notre Dame could get in. They'll win their next 2, but Stanford looms as their last game of the season.

The Big 10 will be interesting with Ohio St, Mich St, Iowa and Michigan playing the spoiler.

As for Memphis, they were undefeated, but Navy showed them as pretenders. If Memphis had won out, the playoff committee would have had a hard time not giving them a playoff spot.

This season is proving more interesting than last.

did anyone else find it amusing how the QB for K state beat baylors line down or was it just me? last week the announcer on tv said baylor was the best team in football....hold that thought mr tv announcer for about 2 more weeks ( Bear) offences win games...defenses win National Championships......

the winners of ND vs Stanford and Alabama vs Florida would fill a stadium to standing room only anywhere in America if it happened next week. but putting ND in a good spot is what i see as well when i add up . what we really need is Stanford to beat ND. but as bad as i hate to say it.....ND refuses to go away...it seems. i got big odds a few weeks back and took Florida to win the NC so if they happen to beat Alabama i dont loose everything. one more thing..Bama hasnt beat Miss st yet...sitting there looking like a mad bumble bee in a jar..............

I agree....this year is much more interesting although my teams are not doing so well. Glad to see Miami rebounding after letting Al Golden go.

Something about Arizona and the phrase "Bear down" doesn't sit well with me. Well, everything about it doesn't sit well with me, really. Their team's nickname is the Wildcat. And it's the Chicago Bears motto. The motto for Arizona should be "Better here than ASU. At least you have a lower chance of contracting HPV."

The question isn't whether I will give them consideration, it's whether the playoff committee will give them consideration. And, since they are 9-0 and only ranked 24th, I think the answer is fairly obvious.

However, I think the real consideration will be going towards Tom Herman. He did wonders as an assistant at Ohio State, leaves there and works wonders again at podunk Houston, while Ohio State finds itself struggling offensively. If some bigger school doesn't offer him a better job at the end of this season, it'll happen next year for sure.

Probably because it's Imgur. I've noticed a lot issues with them lately. No one's hotlinks are working. Even cutting and pasting gives an error. I have to highlight the link in the address bar and hit enter to get it to work.

Most likely, the issue is because Imgur has decided to block traffic coming from FreeOnes. Probably due to bandwidth issues.

A couple of years ago, Imgur was blocking traffic from FreeOnes, but a few days after they upgraded their servers, they stopped blocking, so I assume they are having issues again and decided to re-start the blocking.

Try using another image host.

When I first joined FreeOnes, the board was pushing 80,000 active members. Today, we have less than half that amount.

Back in those days, a thread like this would get several thousand posts over the course of a season. Now, we might break 300 if we're lucky.

It doesn't get quiet, we just have a lot less members who are posting.
