Exactly, well done Germany. They were unlucky and in my opinion they were the most impressive team in the tournament going forward.

i love the fact Ronaldo is getting booed everytime he touches the ball... hopefully it will effect his ego

I think it actually drives him to play better, everytime he got booed he didn't something good.

C. Ronaldo was the best player on the park tonight by a country mile. Portugal were better than France and were unlucky to go out. However these things happen in football. Sometimes the weaker team progress.

he is a good player, but like the commentators said after his attempted penalty...

"the little boy who cried wolf" spends too much time diving about on the floor.

Henry was actually better than Ronaldo in my opinion.

Goodbye Rogue'aldo:wave2:

Yes, Portugal out. Can't understand that there wasn't at least one yellow card given for a schwalbe at the end. And I'm glad Scolari (who's been very irritating during the matches) didn't use Nuno Gomez.

Italy-France. Same final as Euro 2000.

hahahahaha bye bye ladyboy Ronaldo you diving twat :******::tongue: well done france

France!
The matchup between France and Portugal was surprisingly fast paced, with both teams going after a win in regulation time, not overtime or PKs.

I think, with Italy and France in the finals, that the 2 teams that played to their abilities, and then some advanced. Even Germany and Portugal. All others seemed to play below expectations. Potential and expectations are both bitches, and many a national team succumbed to both.

That's not entirely true, other than 2 shots at goal at the beginning of the second half France's offense was weak and Protugal pretty much dominated the game. At the last 40 minutes the game was pretty much on France's 16 box, but thanks to their steel defence Portugal could barely get a decent shot.
This final will be a match-up between the 2 best defensive teams in the world.

My congrats goes out to France (my second fav team) I'm sad Portugal lost but they did play very very well and they dominated the game...France got an iffy penalty called and the capitalized on that chance and won the game...I'm proud of the Portugues team they played well beyond expectations and can still finish third which would be great...I hope France take the whole thing now...The Portuguese played well and have nothing to be embarrased about...

Im so sad portugal lost

I was gonna paint my face and boobs and stomach for the final :( get a flag everything

I'm from Toronto and we have a HUGE Portuguese community here...we have been partying after every game...news channels and newspapers were all ready for a HUGE party...but not this time...hope we can Party on Saturday in the 3rd place game

BTW...no France in the Poll...interesting....

C. Ronaldo was far miles away better than any other player on the field. He was wonderful there. And congrats to Portugal, they deserve to win, I think that's game was a little strange to be a str8 up game. :( The ref didnt see the Penalty on C. Ronaldo and another one after, but saw a penalty wich didnt exist on Henry. After that France stay almost 85% of game on defence and praying to all of gods to don't take a goal. Well, its sad knows that isnt only the Brazil team who gave up to corruption. I can see that's the second ref corrupt, first was on AUS x ITA and know this.

I didn't think any of the penalty claims on Ronaldo should have been giviing. The French pen was also wrong in my opinion. Thought it was a poor game, although I am convinced the chance in the last min was onside. Fair enough the initial chance was saved but there was a player following up and put the ball into the goal.

Happy to see France going through the final but I must agree with you, Portugal also deserved to win ! It was definately a hard, balanced match...
our defence is unbreakable and we got the lil' of luck needed to get this pen, we also managed good to avoid yellow card (exept for saha but I don't care, I prefer to see trezeget replacing henry instead of saha...)

I think we can do it against Italia, Zidane will give everything to its last match

I was on Portugal side on game against France, but probably, on the final I would be on France side, but I can see clearly the ref is on great team's side, I dont know it's about $$$ or the strength on their names on sport, I could see that clearly on Italy x Australia, Brazil x Ghana (less but I could see a goal not valid being scored and a ref closing his eyes to a penalty against Brazil) and now France x Portugal.

I'm starting to think, maybe if Ghana could beat brazil they wouldn't 'cause the ref would help Brazil anyway. That's sad!

I expect that 9inch! After a brilliant game against Brazil, Zidane at better was regular on Portugal's Match. :( Maybe on the final he could show again what he did against Brazil.

C. Ronaldo is a good player. And he was one of the best on the field yesterday. BUt I cannot stand this little ******. I have played with guys like him in soccer teams: very talented guys, but always ****** when they lost a match or were exchanged by others, playing often very unfair and selfish. I cannot stand this type of player.
I like the type of playing of both teams, but Portugal was just too bad yesterday. They should have tried to score instead of flying around in front of the French goalkeeper trying to get a penalty. Some of them like Helder Postiga, Pauleta and C. Ronaldo would have deserved to get a yellow card.

Concerning the finals: I think the French will take it. Offense wins the game, the defense wins the championship. Nobody beats Vieira and Thuram, even not Cannavaro.
Hopefully Inzaghi, the old frog, will stay on the bench.

The other game: Germany-Portugal. I hope Germany will win, although Germany will play without Mertesacker (injured) and perhaps without KLose (also injured). Furthermore there seems to be the idea to substitute Lehmann with Kahn to thank the latter one for his fair behaviour throughout the tournament. That would be ok, both are great goalies!
